The Design Technician I supports the design and engineering team by assisting in the development of telecommunications infrastructure designs. This entry-level role focuses on preparing technical drawings, maintaining design documentation, and supporting design coordination efforts under the guidance of senior design staff. The Design Technician I is ideal for individuals beginning a career in telecom design and engineering.Job Description:
What You’ll Do
Assist in creating detailed CAD and/or GIS drawings for telecom infrastructure projects.
Support engineers and senior designers with design updates and documentation.
Maintain organized and accurate design files and records.
Participate in design reviews and apply feedback to improve accuracy.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, construction, and project management.
Learn industry standards, safety requirements, and telecom design best practices.
What You’ll Bring
Associate degree or technical certification in drafting, engineering technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Basic experience using CAD and GIS software such as ArcGIS, AutoCAD or MicroStation.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Willingness to learn and grow within a technical design environment.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team setting.
Preferred Qualifications
Exposure to telecommunications, utilities, or infrastructure projects.
Familiarity with GIS or mapping software.
Internship or entry-level experience in drafting or design support.
