In this field-based position, the Senior Director, Field Reimbursement Managers, reports to the Head, Rare Blood Disorders and Oncology (RBD Onc) Patient Support Services (PSS).  This position will lead a team of Field Reimbursement Directors who subsequently lead a team of Field Reimbursement Managers supporting the hemophilia and rare hematology businesses and therapeutic areas.  This is a second-line leadership position.

Main Responsibilities

In this field-based position, the Senior Director Field Reimbursement Manager (FRM) will be a second-line leader responsible for successfully leading Field Reimbursement Directors and their teams to become the field subject matter experts relating to patient support, access, reimbursement, prior authorization, appeal, financial assistance, and other business-related issues across the Hemophilia and Rare Hematology PSS programs. The Senior Director will be called upon to successfully lead and motivate their Team to execute strategy, supporting the initiatives set forth in the business plan to include:

  • Manage/Resolve day to day related objectives/issues that affect items within the FRD/FRM Scope of Work. Escalate to Head of RBD Onc PSS when necessary.

  • Lead a team of Field Reimbursement Directors in the development of account business plans and account specific strategies and tactics that optimize business performance

  • Attract, develop, empower and retain key talent by using innovative approaches to recognition and minimize regrettable attrition

  • The FRMs will be the subject matter experts on patient support, access, reimbursement, prior authorizations, appeals, financial assistance offerings from the Patient Support Programs, patient pull through and other business-related issues

  • Spend time in the field with Field Reimbursement Directors and Field Reimbursement Managers to support individual development, help with issue resolution as well as provide coaching, direction and feedback

  • Working within the Directors to plan, design and implement territory alignments to support overall performance

  • Establish positive working relationships with all key customer segments (internal and external)

  • Partner with franchise and cross-functional colleagues across multiple therapeutic areas to create a culture of respect and customer focus

  • Lead the development, review and implementation of Reimbursement programs and tools that strengthen reimbursement support services, align with brand initiatives

  • Understand and adhere to all policies and procedures to coordinate local market for removing reimbursement obstacles and gain coverage for the hemophilia and rare hematology portfolios in a proactive manner

  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of pull through, reimbursement and coverage issues and maintain open lines of communication within the Patient Service Teams, Sales Management Teams, Policy, Government Affairs, Market Access, and brand teams by providing them with timely and actionable information working together to resolve issues.

  • Communicate and collaborate effectively and transversally with other Field reimbursement Directors, Key Accounts field teams, Brand Marketing, Market Access Teams and Field Teams and Senior Management to facilitate achievement of objectives

About You

Basic Qualifications:

  • BA/BS Degree required

  • 8-10 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical/healthcare industry with access experience

  • More than 3 years prior experience managing a team of Field Reimbursement Managers

  • Valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Rare Disease experience strongly preferred

  • Must be an energetic, driven dynamic leader

  • Excellent strategic thinking, analytical, communication and leadership skills required

  • Significant experience and understanding of the external environment, ever-changing payer landscape, and its impact on access

  • Demonstrated success working in a matrix environment (sales, market access, customer service, patient services, medical affairs, marketing)

  • Ability to quickly assemble and develop a high performing experienced team

  • Must achieve and maintain compliance with all applicable regulatory, legal, and operational rules and procedures, and require the same of his/her team

Travel Requirements:

  • 25-50% travel

  • Ability to travel to meetings/trainings/programs as necessary

The salary range for this position is:

$206,250.00 - $297,916.66

All compensation will be determined commensurate with demonstrated experience. Employees may be eligible to participate in Company employee benefit programs, and additional benefits information can be found here.
