Role and Responsibilities
The VP of Display is responsible for the full breadth of Display Portfolio performance across all B2B channels of distributions with responsibilities including sales, marketing, product definition and delivery, and customer satisfaction for the US market. The incumbent is responsible for establishing the strategy to gain market share across all product lines and solutions, and for pivoting the business plan to address shifting dynamics in the market and with our partners and customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Leads sales, marketing, operations, product lifecycle management, and the overall success of the business.
Develops channel strategies, including utilization of business partners and alliances, to create a holistic go-to-market approach for Hospitality TV; LCD Signage; Indoor LED; plus, new innovation launches including Spatial Display and ePaper.
Develops, directs, and negotiates customer sales agreements at the corporate or business channel level and ensures that negotiated commitments are delivered according to plan. Meets with customers to identify new business opportunities and ensures a high level of customer service and satisfaction.
Provides the strategic vision, and translates strategy into a tactical executional plan to achieve P&L and profit margin targets.
Develops sales and business objectives, make decisions and give the team direction, and measure individual/team performance against clearly defined goals and metrics.
Focuses on top customer engagement, resolving escalations; maintains C-level Executive relationships at Top Customers and Partners.
Skills and Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university required; an MBA is preferred.
- 16+ years professional experience directly related GM and Go-to-Market experience is required; blended expertise of sales, product marketing and operational and commercial excellence preferred.
- Proven executive general management experience with a focus on P&L, go-to-market strategy, execution, and a definitive track record of identifying and leading successful transformational agendas.
- Successful track record of pivoting or transforming a product focused B2B business to one that is more services oriented.
- Equal parts strategic thinker and analytical with the ability to predict shifts in the market that will affect the business, and navigate changes to the business model and routes to market that help Samsung stay ahead.
- Exceptional people leader who has successfully led cross-functional teams through periods of aggressive and fast-paced change.
- Global experience is preferred, ideally leading a Sales & Marketing subsidiary of a non-US domiciled HQ.
- Strong presentation and written/verbal communication skills; ability to deliver complex business and technical content to an audience of high technical skills and management experience with executives and at all levels within customer organizations and internally .
- Proven success in B2B hardware and software products, including sell-through with channel, distribution partners and industry vertical sales; display / monitor specialty preferred but open to broader B2B HW and SW backgrounds with scale.
- Proven success managing a large sales organization and achieving results within defined timeframes; pivoting when necessary to deliver in the face of headwinds or changing business climates.
- Proven ability to lead and collaborate in a complex and matrixed environment including the ability to build key relationships with the most senior stakeholders (local and global).
- Ability to understand technical product requirements associated with the Display portfolio
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills with customers, internal stakeholders (local and global), and vendors to align resources and go-forward strategic plans into tactical execution.
