Patient Account Rep

SUMMARY: The Patient Access Rep works as a member of a team assigned to perform front deskfunctions, client registration and the collection of information necessary to ensure reimbursement for services. The core Success Factors include: Instill Trust and Value Differences Patient and Community Focus and Collaborate RESPONSIBILITIES: MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Acts as a receptionist greeting all clients and visitors.Makes appointments and reminder calls for multiple providers. Maintains the front desk schedules and performs daily preparation activities. Collects necessary information, e.g. income verification, voter registration, currentcare registration, demo updates. • Registers new clients; gathering necessary paperwork and electronically opening case at admission. Verifies benefits with insurance carriers and enters the information into CMHC. Obtains and monitors authorizations and reimbursement processes. Maintains specific client data electronically, e.g. current care # Records co-pay information and electronically enters cash receipt.Participates in the development of procedures to enhance current practicesProcesses reports for specific data. Performs light secretarial duties Performs other duties as assigned MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent. At least one-year experience in working with Third Party Payers and/or one-year support experience in a human service office environment. Must be comfortable working in a computer environment. NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: This position requires minimum physical exertion.There may be some light lifting involved in the day-to-day performance of the job.JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITY:- Must have good communication skills both verbal and written; including speech, grammar, spelling, and legibility are at sufficient level to ensure effective and appropriate communication- Moderate mathematical skills in order to calculate figures and amounts; Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals either manually or by use of a calculator- Demonstrated skill in use of spreadsheet and word processing software- Ability to successfully complete all required training and certifications- Maintain effective communication and professional relationships with all external contacts.- Demonstrate ability to present ideas and information in a timely, concise, effective and interpersonal and appropriate manner through both written and oral formsETHICS- Uses and accesses information in client’s health information record or about a client only as necessary to actual duties and then only in accordance with access levels assigned to this position by Gateway Healthcare Inc. from time-to-time and in accordance with Gateway Healthcare Inc. policies, rules, and procedures as adopted by Gateway Healthcare Inc. from time-to-time. - Comply with agency ethics and codes of conduct in all contacts with clients, co-workers and the community- Adheres to the Ethics and Code of Conduct Policies, educating staff in relation to the same.- Demonstrate ability to be trusting, trustworthy and respectful of self and others by ensuring confidentiality and appreciation for others time, resources, and respect for the dignity of each person.INTERPERSONAL FACTORS:Must be able to appreciate the sensitive/private nature and legal status of information about individual clients obtained, maintained, or used by Gateway Healthcare Inc. and to not access, use, disclose, or request such information about a client unless necessary to the performance of his/her job. Pay Range:

$18.13-$29.90
