POSITION OVERVIEW

The Field Technician is the entry-level position on the field operations team, working directly alongside and under the direction of a Lead Site Technician to prepare residential, multifamily, and commercial job sites for sealing services. This role is focused on learning the fundamentals of site preparation, equipment care, cleanup, and quality documentation while demonstrating the initiative and work ethic needed to advance along the technician career path. The Field Technician is expected to actively develop the skills and habits that lead toward the Lead Site Technician in Training role.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Site Preparation

● Assist the Lead Site Technician in preparing job sites for sealing services, including taping around operable windows, doors, air vents, light cutouts, and other penetrations as directed.

● Document existing site conditions and potential issues using Buildertrend software prior to pressurization.

● Follow the task checklist provided by the Lead Site Technician, completing all assigned prep tasks accurately and in a timely manner.

● Communicate regularly with the Lead Site Technician on task progress and any challenges encountered during preparation.

● Assist in loading and unloading equipment required for each job site.

Cleanup & System Breakdown

● Designate time at the start and end of each day to clean work areas and properly store equipment and materials.

● Re-supply the van in the evening to prevent time loss the following morning.

● Follow company guidelines for disposing of waste and recycling materials.

● Carefully dismantle systems following established safety protocols to prevent damage and ensure proper storage.

● Maintain a clean and orderly job site environment throughout each engagement.

Quality Assurance

● Complete the required QA/QC checklist on each project before leaving the job site.

● Flag any quality concerns or discrepancies to the Lead Site Technician immediately.

Initiative & Professional Growth

● Take a proactive approach to the role — look for opportunities to assist teammates and improve processes without waiting to be directed.

● Identify challenges in the field and propose solutions to improve efficiency and productivity.

● Actively seek feedback from the Lead Site Technician and peers to improve performance and take on greater responsibility over time.

● Participate in all required training and retraining programs.

● Work closely with assigned mentors to understand crew management best practices in preparation for advancement.

● Begin developing coordination and communication skills needed to eventually manage a crew as a Lead Site Technician in Training.

● Comply with all designated safety policies and procedures, including the use of required protective equipment at all times.

● Understand and comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws, as well as all company policies.

● Professionally represent the company and provide exceptional service to all clients, vendors, and business partners.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

● High school diploma or GED required; new graduates are welcomed and encouraged to apply.

● Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to and from job sites.

● Must be able to pass a background check, including drug screening, prior to hire.

● Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and complete a task checklist accurately.

● Strong work ethic, punctuality, and a willingness to learn in a hands-on field environment.

● Ability to work in a physically demanding, outdoor environment; must be able to lift and carry equipment as needed.

● Basic digital literacy; ability to learn and use company software tools (e.g., Buildertrend) for documentation.

Salary Range: $39,000 - $40,000
