Latham Limestone is seeking a highly motivated, results-driven 2nd Shift Hourly Aggregate Production Foreman to lead and manage our team in a fast-paced, high-demand environment. As the 2nd Shift Hourly Aggregate Production Foreman, you will be responsible for the safe / efficient management and production of our surface mining operation. Your leadership will ensure the successful execution of day-to-day operations, driving continuous improvement, and maximizing productivity.

You will oversee a team of employees and work closely with senior management to meet production goals while maintaining a focus on quality, efficiency, and employee development.

2nd Shift Hourly Aggregate Production Foreman:

Leadership & Team Management:
Ability to lead, mentor, and direct plant personnel in daily operations.

Proven experience setting clear expectations and holding team members accountable.

Promotes a strong safety culture, empowering employees to report unsafe conditions or behaviors.

Conducts routine safety briefings and ensures proper PPE and safety protocols are followed.

Operational Execution:
Deep understanding of aggregate plant operations, material flow, and production scheduling.

Hands-on leadership style—frequently walks the plant/pit to monitor progress and engage with the team.

Coordinates personnel, equipment, and materials to meet production goals and deadlines.

Adjusts work plans in real time to respond to changes or unplanned events.

Production Oversight & Optimization:
Manages daily production output, ensuring materials meet customer and quality specifications.

Identifies process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce downtime.

Tracks production KPIs and ensures alignment with operational targets.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
Ability to identify and resolve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.

Works closely with maintenance teams to implement repair plans and scheduled maintenance.

Directs emergency response actions during breakdowns to minimize production impact.

Safety & Environmental Compliance:
Thorough knowledge of MSHA, OSHA, and environmental regulations.

Ensures all activities meet compliance standards and internal safety policies.

Conducts inspections to identify hazards and oversees corrective actions.

Communication & Coordination:
Strong communication skills to coordinate with superintendents, maintenance, dispatch, and quality control.

Provides regular updates to leadership on operations, challenges, and resource needs.

Maintains open communication across shifts to ensure continuity of operations.

Continuous Improvement & Development:
Fosters a culture of continuous improvement through innovation and efficiency.

Identifies training opportunities to build team skills and enhance performance.

Participates in budget planning and manages operations to meet monthly cost goals.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in aggregate production or surface mining operations.
  • 2+ years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a mining or production environment is preferred.
  • Strong operational knowledge of aggregate production processes, equipment, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Proven track record of meeting production goals and optimizing operations for maximum efficiency.
  • Familiarity with MSHA safety standards and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Workday, JD Edwards One World software is a plus.
  • Ability to obtain or currently possess a Foreman’s License.
