Description
The Project Accounting Coordinator is responsible for the quality, accuracy and administration of the company’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) project accounting database. This position reviews client-required electronic invoices, maintains project accounting processes and documentation and provides support to the Project Accounting Manager and Senior Accounting Manager on a variety of accounting-related activities and projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitors daily entry of project and client information into the ERP System and performs quality assurance/quality control reviews to ensure data accuracy and compliance with established processes.
- Builds and runs standard and customized queries and reports to support project accounting and business needs.
- Maintains project accounting database processes, procedures and documentation and recommends updates as needed.
- Provides training and guidance to other staff on applicable project accounting database processes and system functionality.
- Provides backup support for project accounting activities and helps ensure compliance with established accounting policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Provides support to project accountants with electronic billing through third party client billing systems and assists with related billing requirements.
- Participates in the testing, development, and implementation of project accounting system and process changes.
- Assists the Project Accounting Manager and Senior Accounting Manager with a variety of tasks and projects as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Two years of progressive experience in a corporate accounting environment; experience in a professional services firm preferred.
- Proficiency with MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook). Strong ERP system experience; experience with Deltek VantagePoint preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and projects with critical deadlines and consistently complete work as defined.
- Professional-level written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to anticipate, identify, and resolve problems in a timely and positive manner.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
- Normal office environment with moderate noise levels, occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs., prolonged sitting and regular walking, bending, standing and reaching.
- Ability to perform consistent work on a PC with prolonged view of a monitor/screen.
Our best estimate of the salary range for this position, located in Redmond, WA, is $56,000 - $78,000 annually. Compensation offered will be based on a variety of individual factors, including education and experience, as well as internal equity. GeoEngineers’ salary ranges are reviewed and updated each year and employees are eligible for pay increases based on individual performance. As part of our competitive total rewards package, employees in this role may also be eligible for our annual year-end bonus offering, subject to program eligibility requirements.
