Description

Northeastern Junior College is seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to serve as the Northeastern Junior College Director of Purchasing. The Director of Purchasing facilitates the administration and coordination of all purchasing for the college following State of Colorado purchasing requirements and practices.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be:

The Director of Purchasing shall be designated by the Colorado Community College System as the purchasing delegate for NJC as an institution to oversee the purchasing and procurement functions and thus to conduct such activities for the College. The responsibilities include:

  • Supervise and control purchasing activities
  • Serve as the single contact with purchasing and vendors
  • Ensure compliance with all State Purchasing Rules
  • Use the Colorado Operations Resource Engine (CORE) system
  • Advise and assist college staff on procurement practices, laws, rules, regulations, etc.
  • Maintain an efficient asset and inventory control system
  • Maintain an efficient receiving/warehousing system
  • Assist the Vice President with real estate and contract management
  • Administer the Procurement Card Program
  • Other duties as assigned by the Vice President.

This position will have occasional periods of long work hours to meet key deadlines. Occasional in-state travel involved. Individual must adhere to the very highest level of ethics in all areas.

  • Experience in purchasing or accounting, preferably in a governmental environment.

What We Can Offer:

This is a full-time professional appointment. Annual salary is $48,000-$52,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
