Job Summary - Dir Sr, Rehab & Nursing Centers

Provides strategic leadership, direction and administrative oversight for designated business lines reporting to the Corewell Health Continuing Care division. Builds effective relationships with health system leadership, physicians, and the community to ensure the provision of high quality, clinically superior services. Oversees the Rehab and Nursing Centers (RNC) and Senior Services (Assisted Living and Independent Living) strategy and operations across all care regions with focus on market growth, revenue and expense targets, and patient and employee satisfaction. Serves as a member of the CHCC executive team. Partners with Corewell Health System entities to leverage clinical business and service quality initiatives. Additionally, this position requires the ability to adapt to changing demands and circumstances without difficulty while leading and directing action that is best for the business.

Essential Functions - Dir Sr, Rehab & Nursing Centers
  • Provides strategic direction and leadership for the growth and development of the RNCs for Continuing Care and the broader health delivery system. Assumes the authority, responsibility and accountability of directing all activities and programs of the RNCs across all care regions. Develops, implements and maintains the annual operation budget and ensures that operations are managed within the established guidelines. Plans, develops and implements coordinated programs to maximize operational efficiencies for achieving objectives.

  • Delegates the administrative authority, responsibility and accountability to other staff personnel as deemed necessary to perform their assigned duties. Hires and directs all service line administrators and program directors as well as mentors and develops team members through empowerment, business experiences and by example. Listens to and helps solve problems and encourages team members to make good decisions and perform effectively.
  • Ensures that processes and services are continuously monitored for quality, cost effectiveness, and efficiency. Engages in process and quality improvement activities. Makes and implements recommendations to improve operational efficiency and to implement new services for areas of responsibility.
  • Ensures that services are provided in accordance with state and Federal regulations, organizational policy, accreditation, and compliance requirements.
  • Serves as liaison between Continuing Care, Regional Hospitals and System Leadership as it relates to RNC strategy and operations.
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships within the organization. Provides information to senior levels of management on the implication of policies and procedures being formulated and recommends specific action

Qualifications - Dir Sr, Rehab & Nursing Centers

  • Required Bachelor's Degree Business Administration, healthcare administration or related field
  • Preferred Master's Degree Healthcare administration or MBA
  • 7 years of relevant experience in a post acute setting; preferably in a multi-site operation Required
  • 5 years of relevant experience leadership Required
  • Experience working in a health system or integrated delivery network. Preferred
  • LIC-Driver's License - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
  • LIC-Nursing Home Administrator - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire preferred
