In this role, you will be responsible for independently executing complex mechanical designs, collaborating closely with Project Engineers during structured design reviews, and delivering high-quality engineering solutions within fast-paced project timelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop complex mechanical designs for custom automated assembly equipment using SolidWorks and Windchill.
  • Independently evaluate, select, and apply advanced engineering principles to solve complex design challenges.
  • Adapt and modify established engineering methods to address non-routine or highly customized design requirements.
  • Own assigned machine design work from initial concept/layout through detailed component and assembly development.
  • Participate in formal design reviews with Project Engineers and incorporate feedback effectively and professionally.
  • Ensure all designs meet requirements for accuracy, manufacturability, safety, and performance.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical, controls, and systems integration teams.
  • Provide strong technical execution and design judgment without project management or leadership responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience designing automated assembly systems or similar automation equipment.
  • Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks (required) and Windchill (preferred).
  • Strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles, automation systems, component selection, and machine design.
  • Proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced engineering environment with minimal oversight.
  • Demonstrated capability to produce complete, accurate mechanical designs under tight deadlines.
  • Open to constructive feedback and able to efficiently implement design revisions.

Work Environment & Expectations

  • Approximately 50+ hours per week, with flexible start times between 6:00–8:00 AM.
  • Heavy design-focused role with no project management or leadership duties.
