Globally, Application Development and Maintenance (AD&M) stands at the forefront of innovation and operational agility, shaping procurement strategies that enable organizations to deliver seamless digital experiences, robust application infrastructures, and transformative development capabilities.

The Category Manager will operate in an environment that requires to be adaptable to changes and make the best use of opportunities. The role is positioned to translate business demand into sourcing strategies supporting business goals. It requires a forward-thinking, collaborative, data-driven and action-oriented person focusing on the method of purchasing outcome-based solutions from potential providers. The role is supporting Deutsche Bank’s business goals across the IT Resources Category (AD&M). IT Resources is the broader term for any kind of IT external workforce.

Responsibilities

• The Category Manager is responsible for the sourcing of IT Resources projects and ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments, and goals, while ensuring compliance with all aspects of Deutsche Bank’s process and policies.
• Will analyze the benefits of alternative sourcing approaches and suggest and help business adopt in sourcing events as appropriate.
• Support execution against and support the development of Category-based sourcing processes that will fulfil both current and future sourcing needs, acting as process owner and champion for the strategic sourcing event processes.
• Work with category teams to manage complex sourcing deals, driving the supplier selection and negotiation process for key sourcing events.
• Ensure supplier engagements align with primary sourcing objectives and stakeholder’s short- and longer-term interests.

Skills

• Proven experience in fast-paced, engineering-driven environments, with the ability to engage in technical discussions and support long-term technology strategies.
• Expertise in category leadership, stakeholder management, and handling multiple simultaneous sourcing events in complex IT and dynamic organizational settings.
• Strong commercial acumen, particularly in contractual negotiations, financial management, and implementing process changes with cross-functional, global teams.
• Excellent relationship management, analytical, problem-solving, communication, influencing, and presentation skills; fluency in English (written and verbal). German is a nice to have.
• Demonstrated resilience and adaptability, with a willingness to pursue innovative solutions and approaches even when encountering challenges.
