SUMMARY:

Sets up and operates arc welding machine that welds together parts of fabricated metal products by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned as required.

• Ability to follow the work instructions in the operation of robot and production of metal parts.

• Set up and run robotic parts for production of metal components.

• Problem solving capabilities for parts production.

• Ability to read prints and identify critical dimensions.

• Detect and report defective material, incomplete operations or unusual conditions to proper supervision.

• Ability to train new operators in the basic operation of the robots.

• Follow and adhere to safety rules and regulations, employee handbook to be included (housekeeping, rules etc).

• Process sheets for the production of parts.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:                                                   

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

EXPERIENCE:

One to three months related experience and/or training and stable work history.

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop / bend and kneel. The employee must constantly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock.  The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
