Summary
The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting the organization's accounting operations by ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining accounting records, and contributing to the continuous improvement of accounting processes. This role supports the monthly close process, prepares financial analyses and reconciliations, and assists with audit and compliance activities.
The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented accounting professional with strong analytical skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and record journal entries and maintain supporting documentation.
- Perform monthly account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
- Analyze financial data and investigate significant account variances.
- Maintain fixed asset records, including additions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation.
- Perform lease accounting activities in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
- Assist with the preparation and maintenance of internal controls and accounting documentation.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of accounting policies, procedures, and workflows.
- Support internal and external audit activities by preparing schedules and responding to information requests.
- Maintain accurate financial records and organized supporting documentation.
- Collaborate with business partners to obtain information required for financial reporting.
- Participate in special projects and perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Three or more years of professional accounting experience.
- Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and general accounting principles.
- Experience with general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and financial close processes.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting or ERP software.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently or as part of a team.
Preferred
- CPA certification or progress toward certification.
- Experience with financial reporting and audit support.
- Experience with fixed asset and lease accounting.
- Familiarity with internal controls and accounting compliance practices.
- Experience working in a fast-paced or growing organization.
