[What the role is]

[LTA-PT] DEPUTY DIRECTOR, PUBLIC TRANSPORT QUALITY

[What you will be working on]

You will oversee and lead on the service performance and reliability of Singapore’s public transport network, with a focus on bus service performance. The key responsibilities include setting and monitoring the service standards, planning bus capacity, implementing performance improvement initiatives, and supporting the transition of the bus industry to the Bus Contracting Model. You will also respond to public feedback and parliamentary questions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead in strategic monitoring the bus and rail service performance and quality, including schedule adherence and long term performance trends.
     

  • Oversee and enforce bus services against regulatory and contractual requirements. 
     

  • Lead the design, implementation, and refinement of initiatives to improve service reliability and capacity.
     

  • Direct the planning and review of bus service capacity and schedules submitted by public bus operators.
     

  • Leverage data analytics and on‑site monitoring to drive evidence-based performance improvements and pre-empt service degradation.
     

  • Support bus package tendering and industry transition under the Bus Contracting Model, including public bus operator relationship management and contract governance.
     

  • Respond to all feedback related to bus service performance and service standards.

[What we are looking for]

  • Knowledge in Transport Planning, Public Policy, or Urban Studies or any relevant field.
     

  • At least 10 years of relevant experience (in transport operations, policy or regulatory roles), with 3 years in a senior managerial role.
     

  • Good leadership, interpersonal, communication, analytical, and stakeholder engagement skills.
     

  • Able to interpret operational datasets, lead analytical work, and translate findings into actionable policy or operational decisions.
     

  • Able to lead and work with multiple stakeholders and manage multiple priorities.
