Cooperative Education is the cornerstone of a Wentworth undergraduate degree. All undergraduate students must complete two co-op semesters as a graduation requirement, and your work will directly support their success in that process.

Responsibilities:

2. Co-op Support

  • Prepare students for participation in co-op, including teaching a co-op preparation course

  • Guide students through identifying, applying for, and securing co-op opportunities

  • Track student progress toward co-op eligibility and maintain accurate records

  • Provide coaching throughout the co-op search and decision-making process

3. Integrated Advising

  • Collaborate closely with Academic and Faculty Advisors to provide coordinated, holistic student support

  • Participate in joint advising meetings, case reviews, and shared student success planning

  • Contribute to consistent advising through shared documentation and aligned outreach

4. Student Engagement Across the Lifecycle

  • First Year: Introduce career exploration and early engagement opportunities

  • Second Year: Deliver co-op preparation programming

  • Third Year: Support students during co-op, review evaluations, and facilitate reflection

  • Fourth Year: Provide advanced job search and career transition support

5. Student Support & Case Management

  • Identify students who need additional support and provide timely outreach

  • Participate in at-risk student case reviews within the IAC

  • Provide timely outreach in response to alerts, progress reports, and advising triggers

  • Connect students with appropriate campus resources

6. Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate, timely advising records in institutional systems

  • Uphold advising standards for response time, documentation and engagement

7. School & Faculty Partnership

  • Serve as an embedded advisor within assigned academic school(s)

  • Build relationships with faculty and academic leadership

  • Align advising with curriculum and program-specific pathways

8. Professional Development & Continuous Improvement

  • Participate in required IAC training and professional development activities

  • Stay current on workforce trends, recruiting practices, and career technologies

  • Contribute to assessment and continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 2-4 years of relevant experience in career advising, co-op programs or student support

  • Strong coaching, communication, and collaboration skills

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in Higher Education, Counseling, or related field

  • Experience in experiential learning or cooperative education models

  • Familiarity with advising or CRM platforms (e.g., Navigate, Symplicity)
