The Roger King Center for Asian Family Business and Family Office is seeking a passionate professional to join its team. This role plays an important part in supporting the Center’s programs, stakeholder engagement, communications, and administrative operations, working closely with Center faculty and external partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively participate in the planning, marketing, participant recruitment, and execution of the Center’s programs and events.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders—including industry partners, alumni, potential collaborators, and prospective program participants—while serving as a key liaison for the Center.
  • Provide project and administrative support for the Center’s education, research, and ongoing initiatives (such as the Library for Asian Family Legacy initiative).
  • Prepare and coordinate communications and reports, including annual reports, promotional materials, marketing communications, event documentation, and program summaries.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of the Center’s mission and overall operations.

Requirements

  • Self-motivated, proactive, responsible, and eager to learn, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as a team player, ensuring end-to-end task completion.
  • Master’s degree or above, preferably in business, communications, marketing, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, ideally in executive education, program management, communications, marketing, media, or event planning.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Chinese, with strong interpersonal and stakeholder-management capabilities.
  • Strong organizational skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
  • Solid computer skills, particularly in leaflet design/editing and practical application of AI tools.
  • Knowledge of, or hands-on experience with, family businesses or family offices will be a strong advantage.
  • Willingness to take on ad hoc tasks and responsibilities as needed.

The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working with people, communicates confidently and professionally, and takes ownership of responsibilities.

About the Center

The Roger King Center for Asian Family Business and Family Office (“The Center”) at HKUST Business School is one of the most active and productive research and teaching centers in the areas of family business and family office in Asia. In particular, the Center is the pioneer in doing research and teaching on family office.

The Center Director Prof. Winnie Peng and Senior Advisor Prof. Roger King’s areas of research focus include succession planning, professionalization, family governance, family philanthropy, wealth management, family office direct investment, impact investing, etc. They publish research papers in the international academic journals and column articles on local and international media, and are often quoted by Bloomberg, Forbes, Asian Private Banker, Family Office Times magazine, etc. They have also developed a rich collection of Asian family business and family office case studies on prominent families. In addition, the Center publishes global and regional industry survey and research report with universities and industry partners around the world.

The Center provides family business and family office course in full levels at HKUST  including DBA, Executive, EMBA, MBA, MSc and UG programs. The Center also provides tailor-made training and joint programs for family business and family office owners, financial institutions and universities. The center also hosts seminars and forums frequently.

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided.  A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
