Job Description:
As part of a team working under the direction of the Business Administrator in the Faculty of Arts Media & Design, the incumbent provides technical expertise and support to students and staff of the various programs and Continuing Education courses in the Faculty. The incumbent assists in maintaining an equipment room and loans equipment to students while ensuring equipment is tracked and returned in good working condition. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring that equipment is properly maintained and repaired as necessary, and that the facilities are kept tidy and organized.
Key Duties:
Manages inventory, Inventory Software and safe storage of equipment and supplies for the programs;
Provides front-line customer service to students of various programs
Maintains equipment;
Provide technical or operational assistance, instruction and/or demonstration to students, Faculty, and part-time staff;
Assists in the procurement of equipment and supplies;
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Two (2) year post-secondary Diploma in in Multimedia, Television Broadcasting, Photography, Film or related field;
Up to three (3) years' experience in a client service environment, preferably related to photography, television, film, or multimedia;
Practical work experience in the field of Photography, Television, Film and/or Multimedia as a lab technician or as a photographer;
At least one (1) of the two (2) years' should include purchasing and inventorying supplies and equipment along with maintenance and repair of such equipment;
Requires a working knowledge of computers;
Client service skills;
Conflict resolution skills.

This position requires on-site work at Algonquin College’s Woodroffe (Ottawa) Campus.
