Position: Senior Exploration Geologist

Location: Iran (Project Site) with periodic travel as required.

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Exploration Geologist to lead and support exploration programs focused on porphyry copper-gold-molybdenum deposits. The successful candidate will play a key role in advancing exploration targets from early-stage evaluation through resource definition, integrating geological interpretation with drilling programs and multidisciplinary technical teams.

Main Responsibilities

 

• Lead geological exploration programs for porphyry copper-gold-molybdenum projects.
• Interpret geological, structural, geochemical and geophysical data to generate and prioritize exploration targets.
• Design, supervise and evaluate diamond drilling and RC drilling programs.
• Develop and maintain robust geological and alteration models.
• Conduct resource interpretation and collaborate with Resource Geologists on mineral resource estimations.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations and exploration updates for senior management.
• Coordinate geological consultants, laboratories and external contractors.
• Mentor junior geologists and promote technical excellence within the exploration team.
• Ensure compliance with international HSE standards and company procedures.
• Support due diligence activities and technical evaluations of potential acquisitions when required.

 

1. Position Requirements

 

• Bachelor's Degree in Geology (Master's Degree preferred).
• Professional registration where applicable.

 

• 13–15 years of progressive experience in mineral exploration.
• Extensive experience in porphyry copper, gold and molybdenum deposits.
• Proven experience designing and managing drilling campaigns.
• Experience with resource definition drilling and geological modelling.
• Previous international mining experience is highly desirable.

 

Technical Skills

• Strong understanding of porphyry systems.
• Leapfrog Geo.
• ArcGIS/QGIS.
• Datamine, Micromine or similar geological software.
• Microsoft Office Suite.
• Technical report writing.
