Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer – Water Systems to support operation, and optimization of industrial water and wastewater utility systems. The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in Water Treatment Plants (WTP), Wastewater Treatment Plants (WWTP), Sewage Treatment Plants (STP), Ultra-Pure Water (UPW) systems (preferred), and Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) processes. The role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable, efficient, and compliant utility operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and optimize Water Treatment Plants (WTP), Wastewater Treatment Plants (WWTP), Sewage Treatment Plants (STP), and Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) facilities.
- Monitor plant performance and identify opportunities for process optimization, energy efficiency, and water conservation.
- Ensure compliance with statutory environmental regulations and discharge norms.
- Conduct technical evaluations, FAT/SAT, equipment inspections, and commissioning activities.
- Develop preventive and predictive maintenance strategies for pumps, valves, piping systems, filtration units, membranes, evaporators, crystallizers, and associated equipment.
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for equipment failures and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Support capacity expansion, debottlenecking, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Prepare technical reports, SOPs, maintenance procedures, and project documentation.
- Ensure adherence to EHS standards, risk assessments, and safe work practices.
- Person should have proficiency in using Gen AI Tools, Copilot, Copilot library & Agent bots.
- Person has to work in All Shift operation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 7–12 years of relevant experience in industrial water utility systems.
- Hands-on experience with Water Treatment, Wastewater Treatment, STP, ETP, and Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) systems.
- Strong understanding of pumps, piping systems, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, filtration systems, membrane technologies (UF/RO), evaporators, and crystallizers.
- Experience in commissioning, troubleshooting, and operation of water utility systems.
- Knowledge of applicable environmental regulations and water quality standards.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, PFDs, P&IDs, and equipment datasheets.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and project coordination skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in semiconductor, pharmaceutical, chemical, petrochemical, or other high-tech manufacturing facilities.
- Familiarity with Ultra Pure Water (UPW) systems.
- Knowledge of automation, PLC/SCADA-based water utility controls.
- Experience with water balance studies, process optimization, and sustainability initiatives.
- Certification in project management or water treatment technologies is an added advantage.
