Description
Join Citi's Markets Operations team as a Cash Securities Settlement Officer, where you will play a key role in the accurate clearance, settlement, and investigation of client securities and derivatives transactions. Working within a fast-paced, high-volume environment, you will coordinate across trading desks and global offices to ensure transaction processing runs smoothly, accurately, and in full compliance with regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Verify trade bookings to confirm accuracy before processing, ensuring all transactions are recorded correctly from point of entry.
- Generate and match trade confirmations against International Swaps and Derivatives Association (ISDA) templates to validate transaction terms between counterparties.
- Complete daily settlement tasks and rate revaluations on time, maintaining operational accuracy across a high volume of transactions.
- Coordinate transaction processing issues with the appropriate internal teams and collaborate to identify and implement effective resolutions.
- Conduct regulatory controls, account reconciliations, and record retention activities in line with established operational policies.
- Prepare and submit periodic internal and external regulatory reports to meet compliance deadlines.
- Participate in General Ledger proofing exercises to support the integrity of financial records and audit readiness.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Business, Accounting, or Finance.
- Working knowledge of Treasury products, accounting principles, and regulatory frameworks relevant to securities and derivatives operations.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks and meet deadlines accurately in a high-volume, fast-moving environment.
- Proficiency in macros to support process execution and data management tasks.
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively across teams.
- Willingness to work extended hours and on a rotational shift schedule to support business continuity across global time zones.
Beneficial Skills & Qualifications
- Up to one year of experience in securities operations, settlements, or a related financial services function.
- Familiarity with trade confirmation workflows or derivatives settlement processes.
- Exposure to General Ledger reconciliation or financial reporting in an operational context.
