Do you have a passion for animals and want to make a difference in the lives of pets while they are away from home? Animal Medical Center I-35 is looking for a compassionate, dependable, and self-motivated Part-Time Kennel Technician to join our team!
Our boarding pets deserve exceptional care, and we're looking for someone who takes pride in creating a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for every dog and cat in our care.
Schedule
- Part-time
- Weekend availability is required
- Additional weekday shifts may be available based on business needs
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional daily care for boarding pets
- Feed and provide fresh water according to instructions
- Walk dogs and monitor their well-being
- Supervise and participate in individual playtimes
- Administer medications as directed
- Bathe dogs prior to going home
- Perform nail trims and anal gland expressions
- Thoroughly clean and disinfect kennels and boarding areas
- Monitor pets for signs of illness or injury and communicate concerns to the veterinary team
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming boarding facility
- Help ensure every pet has a positive, low-stress boarding experience
Qualifications
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently
- Positive attitude with a genuine love for animals
- Excellent attention to detail
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Able to communicate professionally with team members
- Previous animal handling experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Frequently bend, stoop, squat, kneel, and lift
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds
- Comfortable working around dogs and cats of all sizes and temperaments
- Able to work in indoor and outdoor environments in various weather conditions
