- Develop and prepare requisitions and specifications for the ordering of materials, equipment and supplies related to infrastructure maintenance.
- Review and evaluate bids, proposed products, and invoices.
- Update electronic entries in business application and associated software.
- Research and compile technical information from various sources.
- Review data for technical accuracy.
- Generate draft correspondence and perform various administrative work and related activities of the Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Commission.
- Respond to inquiries from vendors, contractors, field staff, and general public.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Maintenance Engineer.
Major Worker Characteristics
- Ability to learn Commission purchasing, requisition, and receiving policies and procedures.
- Skill and knowledge in the use of a computer, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to carry out detailed instructions.
- Ability to write and edit reports, specifications, and other technical documents.
- Ability to answer detailed internal and external inquiries.
- Ability to learn a business application system and associated software.
- Handle sensitive inquiries from vendors, contactors, officials, customers and the general public.
- Ability to read and comprehend technical manuals and instructions.
- Gather, collate and classify information about data, people or things.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- One (1) year prior experience or training in a comparable technical field.
- Must possess proficiency in the use of computer equipment and programs including Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.
- Strong written and oral communication skills are required.
- Must possess and maintain a valid State of Ohio driver’s license.
- May be exposed to dirt, grease, dust, unpleasant odors, and loud noises when working in the field.
- Some travel throughout the distance of the Ohio Turnpike may be required for the completion of above duties.
