Description

George School, a Quaker, coeducational boarding and day high school in Newtown, Pa, is seeking an Admissions Counselor/Assistant Director of Admissions.  This individual will guide prospective students and families through the admissions process, represent the school at events, and lead communication efforts in collaboration with our Marketing & Strategic Communications team.


Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective students and families.
  • Conduct interviews and provide detailed summaries for admission files.
  • Evaluate applications and participate in Admission Committee decisions.
  • Represent George School at admission fairs, conferences, and school visits.
  • Lead all Admission communication efforts, including CRM campaigns and coordination with Marketing.
  • Support event planning and the Admission Ambassador program.
  • Attend faculty meetings and fulfill social duty responsibilities.
  • May serve as a student advisor after the first year.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; 2–3 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience in independent school or higher education admissions preferred.
  • Background in marketing and communications is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with FinalSite or similar CRM systems preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, public speaking, and customer service skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed.
