Lead Bridge Engineer

What you’ll do 

As the Lead Engineer in our Perth Bridges team, you will be responsible for leading the planning, design, and delivery of bridge and civil structures projects, providing technical leadership and ensuring engineering excellence throughout the project lifecycle. The role combines deep technical expertise with project leadership, client relationship management, commercial awareness, and team development to deliver innovative, safe, sustainable, and practical bridge engineering solutions.  

  • Provide technical leadership for bridge and structural engineering projects, ensuring safe, compliant, innovative, and commercially sound design outcomes. 

  • Lead the successful delivery of multidisciplinary projects, managing scope, resources, programme, budget, quality, and risk. 

  • Build strong client relationships, provide trusted technical advice, and support business development through proposals, tenders, and industry engagement. 

  • Lead, mentor, and develop engineers and technical professionals, fostering collaboration, capability growth, and a high-performance culture. 

  • Manage project performance, governance, compliance, and technical and commercial risk to achieve successful project outcomes. 

  • Champion safety, sustainability, and resilience principles across project delivery and engineering solutions. 

 

What you’ll bring  

  • Relevant Civil/Structural engineering qualifications and extensive bridge design and structural engineering experience  

  • Strong knowledge of Australian bridge standards and road authority requirements. 

  • CPEng or equivalent professional registration.  

  • Proven leadership, stakeholder management, and project delivery capability. 

  • Commercial, technical, and problem-solving expertise. 

  • BIM and digital engineering experience desirable. 

  • Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills
