JOB SUMMARY
The Operations Intern will gain hands-on experience supporting the day-to-day operations of a fast-paced home health and/or hospice agency. This role provides exposure to clinical operations, scheduling, intake, compliance, payroll support, clinical processes, and performance analytics. The internship is designed for individuals interested in healthcare operations, with a structured pathway toward future leadership opportunities within the organization.
DUTIES AND RESPSONSIBILITY
- Assist with daily agency operations including scheduling coordination, intake processing, and patient workflows.
- Support clinician assignment optimization and visit utilization tracking.
- Help maintain accurate employee and patient records across systems.
- Compile and analyze operational reports (productivity, census trends, visit frequencies, timeliness of care, etc.).
- Support tracking of key performance indicators (KPIs) for agency performance.
- Assist leaders with identifying workflow inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.
- Support audit readiness by ensuring documentation completeness and accuracy.
- Assist with onboarding documentation, regulatory compliance tasks, and data tracking.
- Partner with clinical leaders, HR, payroll, and intake teams to ensure seamless operations.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute insights and observations.
- Complete assigned operational improvement projects (e.g., workflow mapping, process improvement, employee engagement initiatives).
- Present findings and recommendations to leadership at the conclusion of the internship.
- Serve as a role model of our core values and mission, and unwavering adherence to agency policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and all other established policies, procedures and standards of care.
- Perform other related duties and special projects assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Public Health, or a related field.
- Strong interest in healthcare operations, leadership, or administration.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Analytical mindset with proficiency in Excel or data tracking tools preferred.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Knowledge of computer and electronic medical records systems (EMR) preferred.
- Enthusiasm, passion for working with people, and an internal drive to improve the lives of patients in our care.
- Must have a valid driver’s license, current automobile insurance, and a safe driving record.
- Must consistently demonstrate autonomy, organization, efficient time management, confidence, flexibility and cooperation in performing job responsibilities.

- Exceptional written, oral, and interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively interface with all staff.
