Job Summary:
Supports the CBOP Manager by overseeing and monitoring daily civil construction activities, including foundations, roads, hardstands, substations, and transmission line works to ensure compliance with project requirements. Coordinates with Owner’s Engineers and BOP Contractors on design reviews, construction progress, procurement, HSSE implementation, and QA/QC activities. Reviews BOP design documents, site reports, material data sheets, quality records, and monitors specification or drawing variations, material deliveries, and contractor performance. Assists in reporting and documentation, manages NCRs, construction defects, and punch lists, and actively contributes to project meetings and handover readiness.
Key Responsibilities:
In particular, the successful candidate shall discharge the following activities:
Assist CBOP Manager in monitoring civil construction activities associated with roads and hardstands, and foundations performed by contractors at site daily.
Assist CBOP Manager in monitoring civil construction activities associated with substation facilities, foundations, roads, and transmission line civil works daily.
Review BOP design document to ensure compliance with project requirements, local and international standards, and best industry practice.
Plan and coordinate with OEs and BOP Contractor for design review, construction monitoring, procurement and deliveries, HSSE implementation, QA/QC etc.
Participate and contribute to scheduled meetings such as daily, weekly, and monthly and/or other unscheduled meetings when the need arises.
Assist CBOP Manager in preparing site reports and other documentation.
Review site reports such as Geotech, concrete, steel, and other material technical data sheets.
Monitor and evaluate variations in specifications and drawings.
Monitor and inspect material deliveries.
Review quality documents of the BOP Contractor.
Prepare and monitor NCRs, construction defects and punchlists
Perform other tasks as required.
Pre-requisites:
Civil Engineer, BSc or MSc Civil Engineer BSc
5+ years of relevant construction engineering experience from other power
production plants
Ideally experience from wind power plants
Must have signature rights in relation to authorities’ certification
Concrete handling and testing competencies
Foundation and road construction experience
Geotechnical knowledge and understanding
