Overview

As a Sanitation Lead at Menasha Corporation, you'll enforce food safety and hygiene policies, ensure sanitary standards are met, and work closely with management to resolve cleaning and safety issues. Your responsibilities include maintaining the master sanitation schedule, training sanitation workers, monitoring chemical mixing and use, creating work schedules, performing inspections, and implementing corrective actions. You'll coordinate cleaning activities with the sanitation team and other departments, maintain detailed records, manage vendor relationships for cleaning supplies, and act as a safety advocate. The position requires leadership experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work in a production environment with frequent walking, standing, and lifting up to 25lbs. You'll work second shift (3:30pm-12am) Monday through Friday.

About The Opportunity

Enforce the policies and procedures surrounding the food safety and hygiene in the facility. Ensure that all sanitary standards are met. Work closely with the Management Team in resolving all cleaning and safety related issues.

Essential Job Functions

The following duties are normal for this position. The incumbent may perform some or all of these duties however; it is not an exclusive or all-inclusive list. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Professional in attitude and performance in leadership of staff
  • Responsible for maintaining a high level of food safety and product quality through the cleaning and sanitation of equipment, utensils, and the facility.
  • Maintain the master sanitation schedule and cleaning checklists
  • Assists with developing training programs for the Sanitation department
  • Train sanitation workers on an ongoing basis and document all training processes and procedures properly
  • Monitor the mixing and use of chemicals to prevent misuse and hazards to personnel and property
  • Create and distribute work schedules to sanitation workers and ensure that they follow their daily cleaning duties properly
  • Perform inspections and implement corrective actions to ensure compliance with regulatory authorities and company protocols
  • Keep detailed records of all sanitation-related activities and issues, such as inspections and violations.
  • In instances of violations, develop a plan to correct the situation and maintains record of all corrective actions taken along with completion status.
  • Coordinate and execute all cleaning activities with the sanitation team, and when needed with production or maintenance.
  • Understanding of industry laws and consults with management to address compliance issues and make recommendations to improve processes
  • Manages vendor relationships in regards with cleaning supplies.
  • Responsible to report all food safety related issues immediately to the Quality or Operations Manager.
  • Complete comprehensive evaluation of sanitation processes and practices, and provide feedback for improvements or modifications
  • Acts as Safety Advocate for the facility and works closely with the regional EHS team as required.
  • Responsible for maintaining company safety environment
  • Responsible for effectively ensuring company procedures and policies are being followed

Education & Experience

  • Education Desired:  High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Minimum of 6 months to 1-year related experience or training

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to lead a group of employees to safely perform their tasks and to develop their job-related abilities
  • Ability to interpret instructions both oral and written
  • Ability to understand quality standards, methods and reporting as required
  • Problem solver and team player
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of office equipment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

  • Primarily works in a production and/or warehouse setting
  • Walking, standing, lifting & bending for duration of shift
  • Frequent lifting up to 25lbs
  • 2nd shift: Monday-Friday 3:30pm-12am

The expected salary range for this position is $23.50 hourly. This role is also eligible for an annual incentive plan and for a full benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance; basic term life, AD&D, Short and Long term disability; EAP; 401(k) retirement savings plan; PTO and paid holidays.
