POSITION SUMMARY: The Universal Banker serves as a primary point of contact for clients by delivering exceptional customer service, accurately processing financial transactions, and supporting account opening, onboarding, and ongoing account maintenance. This role combines traditional teller functions with client service responsibilities, providing a seamless banking experience for our clients.

THIS ROLE IS ACCOUNTABLE FOR:

Accountability/Responsibilities

Transaction Processing & Operational Support - 50%

• Process deposits, withdrawals, transfers, loan payments, and other client transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Verify cash, checks, endorsements, and balancing activities.
• Balance cash drawer and daily proof transactions.
• Process cashier's checks, foreign currency orders, and other monetary instruments.
• Assist with currency and coin orders for business clients.
• Support vault operations, including balancing, ordering, and distribution of cash and coin.
• Assist with safe deposit box administration and maintenance.
• Maintain accurate records and operational documentation.
• Support with reporting and other back-office operations as needed. 
• Ensures compliance with the Scale Bank code of conduct and all Anti-Money Laundering, Bank Secrecy Act, information security and suspicious activity reporting requirements, policies, and procedures.  

Client Services & Account Maintenance - 25%

• Provide outstanding service that builds trust and strengthens client relationships.
• Greet and assist clients in the lobby, identifying needs and directing them to appropriate resources when necessary.
• Assist clients with support in IRA’s, certificates of deposit, checking and savings accounts.  
• Process account maintenance requests, including ownership changes, signer updates, authorized users, and service modifications.
• Provide customer assistance for online banking, bill pay, gift card purchases, debit card services and account-related inquiries.

Client Onboarding & Cash Management Support - 25%

• Coordinate new account and service onboarding for clients.
• Prepare and process onboarding documentation.
• Assist with implementation and maintenance of cash management services, including user access, permissions, and service setup.
• Provide client education, training, and support for banking products and digital solutions.
• Work collaboratively with lending, operations, and other departments to ensure a smooth client experience.

Supervision

This role does not have supervisory or other work direction responsibility over other employees.

Requirements

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
• 1- 3 years of experience in customer service with cash handling responsibility and/or clerical duties
• Banking experience is preferred 
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn banking systems
• Ability to exercise judgment, raise questions to management, and adhere to policy guidelines
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to review, understand, and apply detailed documentation and effectively convey information to clients.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
