Associate, Application Developer, Consumer Banking Group Technology

Required Skills & Experience

1. Minimum 4+ years of hands-on experience in Software Development with strong backend engineering expertise.
2. Strong understanding of Data Structures, Algorithms, Computational Complexity, and Problem Solving.
3. Excellent working knowledge of Java (17+), including:
• Concurrency and Multithreading
• Collections Framework
• JVM Internals and Performance Optimization
• Functional Programming concepts
4. Hands-on experience in designing, developing, and maintaining Java/Spring-based applications, including:
• Spring Boot
• Spring MVC
• Spring Data JPA
• RESTful APIs
• Event-Driven Architectures
5. Proven experience in building and operating Microservices architectures, including service decomposition, resilience patterns, scalability, and observability.
6. Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Analysis & Design (OOAD) and implementation of common design patterns, SOLID principles, and clean architecture practices.
7. Excellent knowledge of Relational Databases, SQL optimization, query tuning, indexing strategies, and performance troubleshooting.
8. Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD) and automated testing frameworks include:
• JUnit
• Mockito
• Spring Test
• Karate or Cucumber Framework (BDD)
9. Proficiency with modern SDLC and DevOps tools:
• Git / Bitbucket
• Maven / Gradle
• Jenkins
• SonarQube
• Nexus
• JIRA
10. Experience working with Cloud and Container platforms:
• Docker
• Kubernetes (preferred)
11. Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools like ELK.
12. Strong automation and scripting capabilities.
13. Ability to work effectively in dynamic, fast-paced environments and quickly adapt to evolving business and technology requirements.
14. Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across distributed teams and stakeholders.

 

AI-Assisted Development & Engineering Productivity (GenAI)

1. Experience using Generative AI-powered software development tools to improve engineering productivity and code quality, such as:
• Gemini CLI
• Claude Code / Claude CLI
2. Ability to leverage AI tools for:
• Code generation and refactoring
• Unit test creation
• API development and documentation
• Code review assistance
• Root cause analysis and troubleshooting
• Performance optimization recommendations
3. Understanding of Responsible AI-assisted development practices, including:
• Validating AI-generated code
• Security and compliance reviews
• Prompt engineering for software development
• AI-assisted debugging and system analysis
• Maintaining code quality, maintainability, and governance standards

 

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Banking, Payments, FinTech, or high-volume transaction systems.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, and Cloud-native application development.
• Contributions to engineering productivity initiatives, developer platforms, or AI-driven development practices will be highly valued.
