We unite caring with discovery to help make life better for people around the world, knowing that every decision, every detail, and every day matters. Headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana, our over 50,000 employees around the globe take on complex challenges to discover and deliver life-changing medicines, strengthen how health is understood and managed, and support the communities we serve. This is hard, urgent, selfless work—but it’s work worth doing. If you’re driven by purpose and ready to bring your best to work that truly matters for patients, we invite you to join us.
Organization Overview
At Lilly, we serve an extraordinary purpose. We make a difference for people around the globe by discovering, developing and delivering medicines that help them live longer, healthier, more active lives. Not only do we deliver breakthrough medications, but you also can count on us to develop creative solutions to support communities through philanthropy and volunteerism.
Global Medical Solutions (GMS) helps Lilly Medical Affairs share science with healthcare professionals (HCPs) in the ways they prefer, through medical education, omnichannel and web experiences, independent medical education, and healthcare improvement. Within GMS, the Medical Affairs Omnichannel Capabilities and Digital Solutions team builds and runs the digital capabilities that make Lilly’s medical and educational content easy for HCPs to find, trust and use.
The Role
Lilly’s medical web presence is moving to a unified experience: one compliant, connected destination for HCPs where medical education sits alongside other Lilly HCP content, with clear separation between scientific and promotional material. We are looking for an Associate Director to own that experience as its product leader.
You will set the roadmap, lead the cross-functional teams who build it, and make sure it measurably helps HCPs find accurate, timely scientific information, first in the US and then across key affiliates. You will report to the Senior Director, Medical Affairs Omnichannel Capabilities and Digital Solutions.
What You Will Own
1. Product strategy and roadmap
- Own the product vision, multi-year roadmap and quarterly objectives for Lilly’s medical web and the unified HCP experience, aligned with GMS and therapeutic area medical priorities.
- Lead backlog prioritization with Tech@Lilly product owners, scrum masters, developers and agency partners, and make the trade-off calls that keep delivery on time and on budget.
- Deliverables: annual roadmap, quarterly objectives and release plan, reviewed with GMS leadership.
2. Running and scaling the unified experience
- Lead the unified experience through post-launch stabilization and continuous improvement, including content conversion and migration onto Lilly’s enterprise web platform (Adobe Experience Manager).
- Own the taxonomy, page architecture and standards that keep content consistent as new therapeutic areas, disease states and medicines are added.
- Build and deliver a phased plan to extend the experience to priority affiliates, adapting to local medical and regulatory requirements while keeping global standards.
- Deliverables: post-launch stabilization plan, published web standards and taxonomy, and an affiliate rollout plan with first markets live.
3. Governance, compliance and operating model
- Govern medical web processes end to end (intake, prioritization, review, publishing and retirement) so content owners across business units can get high-quality content live quickly.
- Partner with Medical, Legal, Regulatory, Ethics & Compliance, Privacy and Quality to keep medical content clearly separated from promotional content and compliant with Right to Operate requirements.
- Train and coach content owners in global medical business units and affiliates, manage agency and vendor partners, and lead business planning and quarterly chargebacks for web services.
- Deliverables: documented operating model and RACI, content-owner training, and annual budget and chargeback model.
4. Measurement and optimization
- Define the KPIs for the medical web experience, such as HCP reach and engagement, content findability, time to publish and content reuse, and build the dashboards to track them.
- Run quarterly performance reviews with business units and turn the insights into roadmap and content decisions.
- Deliverables: KPI framework and dashboard, and quarterly performance readouts.
5. Future-ready content
- Make sure medical content is structured, modular and tagged so HCPs can find it through search and, responsibly, through AI- and LLM-enabled experiences.
- Track trends in web, AI and digital HCP engagement, and pilot new capabilities that could extend the experience to adjacent channels.
- Deliverables: content structure and metadata standards, and pilot proposals with clear success criteria.
What Success Looks Like in the First 12 Months
- The unified experience is stable after launch, with clear ownership, governance and a predictable release cadence.
- A roadmap and quarterly objectives are in place and used by GMS leadership and business units to make decisions.
- Agreed KPIs are tracked and improving, especially time to publish and HCP engagement.
- An affiliate expansion plan is approved, and the first markets are live or in build.
- Content owners find the process clear, fast and easy to follow.
