Urgent Care Veterinarian – Middletown CT
A well-established veterinary practice is seeking a part-time veterinarian to provide emergency and urgent care services in a collaborative clinical environment. This position offers the opportunity to manage a variety of acute cases while working alongside experienced veterinarians and a skilled support team.
The practice emphasizes doctor-led medicine, professional development, and collaboration across different areas of veterinary care. Additional clinical support is available for more complex cases.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and stabilize patients presenting with urgent and emergency medical conditions.
- Perform thorough examinations and develop appropriate diagnostic and treatment plans.
- Manage a diverse range of emergency and critical cases.
- Perform emergency procedures and surgical interventions as appropriate.
- Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and clinical resources to support patient care.
- Communicate clearly with clients regarding diagnoses, treatment options, prognosis, and follow-up care.
- Collaborate with veterinary technicians, specialists, and other members of the medical team.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records.
- Provide compassionate care to patients and their families during emergency situations.
- Participate in continuing education and ongoing clinical development.
- Contribute to a collaborative and professional hospital environment.
Qualifications
- DVM, VMD, or equivalent veterinary degree from an accredited institution.
- Active veterinary license or eligibility to practice in the applicable state.
- Strong interest or experience in emergency and urgent care medicine.
- Ability to remain composed and make sound clinical decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong diagnostic, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable managing complex or critical cases.
- Ability to work effectively with a multidisciplinary veterinary team.
