Description
he Police Commission, and other units as data information is requested. Issues reports as required to the Division and public. Assesses forms and the data collection system on an annual basis to improve accuracy. Trains other members of the Division of Police in required software programs. Performs other related duties as assigned or as the situation requires.Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Public Administration, Criminal Justice, Statistics, or a Research-related field from an accredited four-year college or university required, a Master’s is preferred. Three years of full-time professional experience in data collection and analysis required. Should be familiar with Record Management Software, IA Pro Software, or similar software programs and must have experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, Publisher, Power Point). Should also be proficient in research-related software such as SPSS or SAS or a related statistical software. Must be able to withstand an extensive background investigation.Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work with others to define and develop reporting deliverables
- Query databases to extract information needed to develop reports
- Compile data and other information from multiple data sources
- Develop, modify and maintain custom reports
- Interpret, analyze, and provide recommendations regarding data accuracy
- Continuously assess and improve data collection and reporting processes
- Highly organized with strong data management skills
- Strong knowledge of data programming, mapping e.g. SQL, ArcGIS, etc.
- Technical expertise regarding data migration from disparate systems
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work well in a team environment as well as individually
- Strong report writing skills and excellent presentation skills with the ability to display complex information in simple ways
- Strong knowledge of statistics and excellent technical skills for handling complex datasets
- Experience with ensuring accurate data collection, data analysis and reporting
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
