This recruitment is only open to King County employees who have completed the probationary period (or will complete it by the closing date of this posting) in their current Career Service position.

King County Metro Transit’s Employee Services Division has an exciting opportunity for a collaborative and knowledgeable HR professional to join the Human Resource Information Management (HRIM) team as a HRIM Senior Analyst (SDA).

The HRIM Senior Analyst (SDA) functions as a Lead within the HRIM team and is considered a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for PeopleSoft, Metro’s Human Resources Information System (HRIS). This role requires a customer-focused, hands-on approach to effectively support staff at all levels of the agency in matters related to HRIM and will regularly advise and consult with other departments, teams, managers, supervisors, and workgroups across King County to address a wide range of business needs and issues.

Maintaining the integrity of employee information and data analytics throughout all stages of the employee lifecycle requires strong attention to detail, resourcefulness, and a foundational understanding of HRIS system infrastructure and functionality. As a Lead on the HRIM team, the HRIM Senior Analyst (SDA) processes, approves, and reviews position changes for over 7000 positions at Metro, including semi-annual shake-ups, hiring, and promotions, implementing union CBA contract changes, and all changes to personnel or position data such as salary and leave status. They also develop and manage the processes used by Employee Services (ES) and administrative staff across Metro when updating position and personnel data within the HRIS. This includes administering PeopleSoft access and orienting end-users and other ES staff on how to navigate and interact with the system to accurately administer HR processes.

Position Information: This recruitment will be used to fill one (1) HRIM Senior Analyst (SDA) position as a Special Duty Assignment (SDA) with a duration through December 31st, 2027, with the possibility of extension. This recruitment may be used to generate an eligibility pool for future SDA opportunities that may occur in this classification on the HRIM team. The eligibility pool will be retained for up to twelve (12) months from the date of posting and may be used at the discretion of the hiring authority. The HRIM Senior Analyst (SDA) is a Human Resource Analyst- Senior classification.

About Metro Transit’s Human Resources Information Management (HRIM) Team: HRIM leverages existing technology to centrally maintain, analyze, and archive employee data; interpret and apply policy and contract language to maintain consistency and compliance in HR processes and Metro practices; provide internal and external customer service, support, and data management for business needs and enhanced strategic decision-making.

Applying our ACTIVATE values: being Accountable, Collaborative, Timely, and Impactful; how we Value Employees; staying Accessible; building what’s Trusted; and acting Equitably, is a daily responsibility and a foundational expectation for all King County employees. As the HRIM Senior Analyst (SDA) you will:

  • Partner with HR Analysts, offering support and process-alignment guidance to help ensure accuracy and shared understanding across the team.
  • Collaborate and support as a consultant to help co-create standard operating procedures (SOPs) for internal processes and procedures.

  • Review and ensure accuracy of Personnel Change Notices (PCNs) that relate to employee status changes such as leaves of absences, hiring, promotions, data changes, salary changes, and union contract implementation.
  • Provide timely responses to a large volume of questions from staff at all levels and across multiple divisions via phone and written channels.
