Special Education Paraprofessional / Associate Teacher

The Learning House, a year-round therapeutic day school located in Wheeling, IL serving middle and high school students for students who have been determined eligible to receive special education for ED/LD/OHI and Autism. The Associate Teacher assists in all aspects of the instructional program and behavioral management of students in this year-round program. The Associate Teacher may be responsible for small group instruction under the direct or indirect supervision of the teacher or administrator. The Associate Teacher participates in activities necessary to maintain classroom integration and to support students’ Individualized Education Plans in all curricular areas, including, but not limited to classroom, community, vocational, recreational, and domestic domains. In addition to the above, the Associate Teacher drives a van route to and from school on a daily basis and completes required training in order to do so (paid for by employer).
