Accounting Clerk - AP & Payroll Focus

We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to manage our core Accounts Payable and Payroll operations across multiple entities. This is a vital, hands-on role in a growing department. While your primary focus will be processing high-volume AP and multi-location payroll, you will also support our Accounts Receivable team and tackle various ad hoc financial projects.

Our ideal candidate is someone who already possesses a strong foundation in transactional bookkeeping, thrives in a multi-entity environment, and is ready to take ownership of their daily workflows.

Work Structure: This position is initially based fully in-office during the initial training and onboarding period. Upon successful completion of training and a demonstration of independent job performance, this role will transition to a flexible hybrid schedule.

 

Essential Functions

Accounts Payable

• Process Accounts Payable for multiple locations
• Enter invoices and reconcile against supporting documentation
• Process invoice payments via check, ACH, or other methods
• Communicating with vendors as needed to properly process APs
• Monthly credit card allocations

Payroll

• Reconcile expense reports and receipts
• Process payroll for multiple entities
• Obtain and maintain subcontractor paperwork as required

Accounts Receivable

• Record customer deposits (checks/credit cards/incoming ACH)
• Provide clerical support to the AR team through invoice preparation, credit memo processing, and transaction corrections

Month-End Close Support:

• Research bank reconciliation discrepancies
• Research/review transactional-level items as requested

General

• Basic financial transaction analysis as requested
• Support Accounting Team as backup for key accounting functions
• Keep company financial information confidential
• Provide general accounting and administrative support, including assisting with sales tax filings, supporting 1099 reporting, maintaining organized accounting records, and managing invoice submissions from the shared inbox, along with other related tasks that ensure smooth departmental operations

Qualifications

• Experience in full-charge bookkeeping
• Experience with QuickBooks is a plus
• General office setting experience is preferred
• Bookkeeping or Accounting college-level coursework or similar preferred but not required
