Make an Impact in Orthopedics
Join our Orthopedics team as a Clinic/Practice Assistant and help create a welcoming, organized, and efficient experience for every patient. In this non-clinical, patient-facing role, you will support daily practice operations through scheduling, registration, communication, records management, and other essential administrative functions. What You’ll Do
• Welcome and assist patients while supporting an efficient flow through the practice.
• Schedule patient appointments and maintain accurate appointment records and daily schedules.
• Manage incoming calls, answer routine questions, take complete messages, and connect callers with the appropriate resources.
• Support patient check-in and check-out activities and verify registration information for accuracy.
• Handle messages and documentation related to referrals and prior authorizations.
• Prepare, scan, file, and retrieve documents in patient records, including medical records and laboratory results.
• Process patient billing forms and, when required, accept co-payments.
• Open and distribute mail and faxes and prepare forms, records, schedules, memos, and other materials as directed.
• Monitor the waiting room, respond to patient information needs, and help maintain smooth day-to-day practice operations.
Qualifications
What You’ll Bring
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Up to one year of healthcare office experience required.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of standard office procedures, including filing, copying, scanning, printing, and faxing.
- Confidence using multi-line phone systems, managing routine and non-routine calls, and resolving routine issues appropriately.
- Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to compose emails, memos, and letters and take accurate messages.
- Strong organization and time-management skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities, follow established protocols, and work effectively within defined systems.
