About the Role

Cascadia Healthcare is seeking an experienced ADR Resource Specialist to support our skilled nursing facilities throughout the organization.This role serves as a subject matter expert for Additional Documentation Requests (ADR), audits, denials, and appeals, partnering closely with facility leadership and interdisciplinary teams to ensure timely, accurate, and complete documentation submissions. The ADR Resource Specialist will review medical records, identify documentation requirements, coordinate information gathering efforts, and support facilities through the audit and appeals process.


The ideal candidate possesses strong knowledge of skilled nursing documentation, MDS processes, Medicare and managed care requirements, and medical records management. Success in this role requires exceptional organization, critical thinking, communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders across various facilities.

Key Responsibilities

ADR, Appeals & Denials Management

  • Manage and support Additional Documentation Requests (ADRs), audits, denials, and appeals across multiple skilled nursing facilities.
  • Coordinate documentation collection, submission timelines, and appeal activities to ensure accurate and timely responses.
  • Track audit outcomes and identify opportunities to improve success rates and reduce future denials.

Documentation Review & Analysis

  • Review medical records and supporting documentation to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with payer requirements.
  • Identify documentation gaps and collaborate with facility teams to obtain necessary records.
  • Utilize PCC and other systems to gather, validate, and organize supporting documentation.

Facility Collaboration & Support

  • Partner with Administrators, CNOs, Business Office Managers, MDS Coordinators, Medical Records staff, Therapy teams, and other interdisciplinary stakeholders.
  • Communicate documentation needs, deadlines, and audit requirements while serving as a trusted resource throughout the review process.
  • Provide guidance and support to facilities navigating ADRs, audits, denials, and appeals.

Education & Process Improvement

  • Educate facility teams on documentation best practices, audit readiness, and denial prevention strategies.
  • Identify trends and recurring issues and recommend process improvements that strengthen documentation quality and support successful outcomes.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) preferred, or equivalent skilled nursing clinical, MDS, medical records, or reimbursement experience.
  • Experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, post-acute care, or healthcare reimbursement.
  • Strong understanding of skilled nursing documentation requirements.
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and facilities simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
  • Experience with ADRs, denials, appeals, Medicare audits, or managed care audits.
  • MDS Coordinator, Medical Records, RAC-CT, PDPM, or reimbursement experience preferred.
  • Experience reviewing documentation for Medicare, managed care, or insurance submissions.
  • Familiarity with PointClickCare (PCC).
  • Multi-facility or regional support experience.
  • Experience working with skilled nursing reimbursement and regulatory requirements.
