Power Delivery Project Manager

Leidos Engineering is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our Strategic Program Consulting team within our Power Delivery Solutions division. In this role, you will work amongst cross-functional personnel to provide Project Management Services supporting a large electric utility client. The successful candidate will manage a large portfolio of complex electric projects throughout their lifecycle, engaging key stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of scope, cost, schedule, and customer satisfaction. 

The Project Manager will be part of Leidos' Power Delivery Solutions Division that provides consulting services to both public- owned and investor-owned electric utilities. These consulting services provide clients with overall project management tasks in the areas of comprehensive engineering design of electrical transmission and distribution, substation and transmission line projects nationwide.

This role has remote working capabilities, however, periodic travel to client sites throughout New York state may be required. Therefore, candidates in or near NY or the Northeastern US will be preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately maintain project budgets and forecasts monthly.
• Ensure compliance with financial governance policies and procedures
• Identify and mitigate risks to the project delivery process including but not limited to permitting, logistical, material, resource, contractual and cost constraints.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and other mandatory targets.
• Prepare for and attend workplans and other stakeholder meetings.
• Assemble project teams comprised of various project stakeholders and host project specific meetings to resolve risks or persistent issues.
• Ensure timely completion of reports as required by the business.
• Monitor performance against key performance indicators and adjust ways of working as necessary to achieve a high level of performance.
• Challenge existing ways of working and facilitate improvements to company best practices to achieve the highest level of efficiency and performance.
• Accurately maintain detailed project schedules monthly with Project Controllers in Primavera P6 including project requirements, activity and milestone dates, resourcing, status, etc.
• Provide leadership and oversight to a group of internal and external stakeholders, driving efficiency and effectiveness, key strategies and processes to successfully deliver fiscal year targets.

Background Requirements/Qualifications:

• A minimum of 4+ years of progressive Project Management experience within the Electric Utility Industry; Experience as a Project Manager directly at an electric utility is strongly preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Finance, or related field; Additional Relevant experience in lieu of a degree may be considered.
• Demonstrated Experience working with US Electric Utilities, and a comprehensive understanding of electric power and infrastructure projects is required
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to travel periodically with a valid driver's license is required
• Working Knowledgde of Primavera P6 strongly preferred

Candidates with varying levels of experience may be considered, and pay ranges will be commensurate with selected candidates' experience and qualifications.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $73,450.00 - $132,775.00
