Senior Software Engineer

SSenior Software Engineer | Full-Time | Remote

Plexus has partnered with a highly technical, early-stage company building at the intersection of DeFi, AI and on-chain trading infrastructure. They are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to work closely with the founder as a key technical hire, helping shape the architecture and build innovative products from the ground up.

This is a high-ownership role for an engineer who combines deep DeFi knowledge with strong full-stack capabilities and a founder’s mindset.

The Role

• Design, build and ship new products, tools and infrastructure across the DeFi and on-chain trading ecosystem.
• Develop scalable systems, with a strong understanding of underlying infrastructure, architecture and system interactions.
• Work across the full stack, using technologies including Rust, React and TypeScript.
• Explore and implement emerging technologies, including AI-native tools and workflows.
• Take ownership of technical decisions and execution, working directly with the founder to turn ideas into production-ready products.
• Stay at the forefront of developments in DeFi, blockchain infrastructure and modern software engineering.

Requirements

• Extensive software engineering experience, with the technical depth to operate as a key engineering partner to the founder.
• Strong proficiency in Rust and experience building production-grade software.
• Comfortable working across the full stack, including React and TypeScript.
• Deep understanding of DeFi, liquidity provision and on-chain financial systems.
• Strong systems-thinking capabilities and an understanding of infrastructure-level architecture.
• Previous experience in an early-stage startup or similarly high-ownership environment.
• A proven ability to build products from scratch and operate independently in fast-moving environments.
• An AI-forward mindset, with practical experience building AI-powered products, tools or workflows.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Alchemy, Dune Analytics, Effect or Nix.
• Background in DeFi protocols, liquidity infrastructure, trading systems or market-making.
• Open-source contributions or a strong portfolio of technical projects.
• Experience founding a company or working in a small, technically ambitious team.
