We currently have an opportunity for a well-rounded and seasoned Fine Dining Host/Hostess  to join our Pier Sixty-Six Resort team! We seek friendly and outgoing individuals with Fine Dining experience to join our team as a Hostess / Host. As a Hostess / Host, you will be the first point of contact for our guests and outside visitors, providing them a warm welcome and ensuring their dining experience starts on a positive note. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and has a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.

 

Reporting to the outlet General Manager, the restaurant Hostess, you will support and provide excellent service at our new fine dining signature restaurant on our iconic resort. This high volume requires a passion for personalized service and guest engagement. The new hot spot in Fort Lauderdale will offer luxury products and services in a dynamic environment.

 

Responsibilities

• Greet guests with a friendly and welcoming demeanor upon arrival
• Escort guests to their tables and provide menus
• Assist in seating Members and guests according to seating chart or guest preferences
• Manage waitlist during peak hours and provide accurate wait time estimates
• Answer phone calls and take reservations or provide information as needed
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host/host station and dining area
• Handle guest inquiries, complaints, or special requests with professionalism and efficiency
• Adhere to departmental policies and procedures
• Effectively communicate with peers, management, line, and front-of-the-house employees
• Practice effective listening: (seek to understand)
• Perform related duties as required
• Be responsible for the cleanliness of the immediate work area as well as the general property
• Adhere to proper grooming, dress and uniform standards as set forth by Resort policy
• Be courteous to all guests and coworkers
• Maintain behavior consistent with sexual harassment/hostile work environment policy dictated in the Employee Handbook
• Maintain complete knowledge of all outlet offerings and resort information.
• Perform other tasks assigned by supervisor

Physical Requirements 

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
• Ability to frequently walk between the host stand, dining areas, and other guest service areas.
• Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and occasionally kneel as needed to perform job duties.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull items weighing up to 25 pounds, including menus, supplies, and other restaurant materials, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to safely maneuver through busy and crowded dining areas while maintaining awareness of guests, team members, and service activity.
• Ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist movements, including handling menus, seating charts, reservation systems, phones, and other equipment.
• Ability to remain attentive and maintain physical stamina while working in a fast-paced, guest-facing environment.
• Ability to visually inspect dining areas, tables, menus, and guest seating areas.
• Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members while standing and moving throughout the restaurant.
• Ability to work varying shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours based on business needs.

Experience, Education, & Licensure

• High School Diploma or GED recommended
• Some College experience or Degree recommended
• Bilingual language preferred
• Previous hostess experience in a professional setting is preferred
