Job Summary:
The Talent Supervisor oversees high-volume, field-based recruiting operations for the Grand Canyon South Rim, ensuring staffing plans align with evolving operational needs. The Talent Supervisor provides direct leadership and development to a larger team of recruiters while also maintaining an active requisition workload. This position partners closely with senior stakeholders to navigate workforce challenges, anticipate hiring needs, and deliver scalable recruiting solutions, while reinforcing a culture of accountability, performance, and excellence across the recruiting function.
This position reports to the Regional Talent Manager and is based out of our Corporate Headquarters. This is a hybrid position.
Responsibilities
Leadership:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with department and property leaders.
- Lead and support a Talent Coordinator, Talent Specialist, and Seasonal Talent Specialist(s)
- Train and develop position skills
- Determine workflows
- Measure productivity and effectiveness
- Provide up-to-date interview guides and additional recruiting tools
- Lead Talent meetings with property leaders and corporate stakeholders.
- Conduct interview audits and shadow interviews as appropriate.
Recruiting:
- Balance speed and quality of hire while maintaining a positive candidate experience.
- Lead job activities to ensure property hiring needs are met, including meeting or exceeding interview goals.
- Conduct intake meetings with hiring managers to determine skills and qualifications. Update job descriptions and requisitions as needed.
- Provide additional solutions for hard-to-fill and high-priority positions.
- Screen and interview hourly and salary positions.
- Create and initiate assessment tests for applicable roles.
- Coordinate next steps with hiring managers.
- Create and extend offers. Ensure accuracy of job specifications including wages.
Data, Reporting and Forecasting:
- Ensure data integrity in applicant tracking system by following established workflow guidelines.
- Assist in the forecasting, planning and hiring of international recruiting initiatives, as applicable.
- Develop and report on talent metrics to drive business decisions.
- Manage the staffing guide and other relevant tracking documents.
Brand Marketing:
- Partner with marketing to determine and drive advertising opportunities.
- Manage job advertisements per budget.
- Ensure all job postings provide an accurate description, and brand templates are utilized correctly.
Other Duties:
- Participate in virtual or on-site hiring events as needed.
- Partner with location to determine hiring manager training needs and conduct training as needed.
- Perform additional tasks assigned, which may include supporting specific Talent projects or initiatives.
Qualifications
Education:
- BA/BS Degree or equivalent work experience required.
- 2-3 years of experience as a people manager or supervisor preferred.
Experience:
- Must have at least 3-4 years of experience in recruiting in hospitality or similar industry.
- Ability to lead, coach, and motivate a team, manage conflict, and foster a positive work environment.
HR Systems Knowledge:
- Must have experience with applicant tracking systems, preferably iCIMS.
Competencies:
- Proficient in MS Office Suite with exceptional Excel skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and people skills.
- Ability to address complex staffing challenges with practical, creative solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and follow up independently.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines with attention to detail.
Compensation:
The salary range for this position is $65,000 - $68,000 depending on experience.
