Description
Company Name: Confidential Private Equity-Backed Commercial Services Platform
Location: Remote, United States (Preference for Eastern or Central Time Zones)
Position Title: Corporate Safety Manager
The Opportunity:
This is a ground-floor opportunity to build and lead the corporate safety function for a rapidly growing national platform of commercial HVAC, mechanical, specialty services, and construction businesses. As the organization's first dedicated corporate safety leader, this individual will have the unique opportunity to establish the strategy, structure, standards, and culture that will define safety performance across a diverse and expanding portfolio of operating companies.
The successful candidate will serve as a highly visible business partner to executive leadership, local company presidents, branch leaders, field supervisors, and technicians. This is not simply a compliance role. It is a leadership position designed to create meaningful operational impact by driving a world-class safety culture across multiple businesses while supporting aggressive growth objectives.
The role offers extensive autonomy and influence. The individual will be empowered to develop enterprise-wide safety programs, implement training initiatives, improve incident prevention efforts, establish reporting metrics, and support safety integration for future acquisitions. The organization is expected to continue expanding rapidly, creating significant opportunities to shape safety practices across an increasingly larger footprint.
This position is ideal for a hands-on safety professional who enjoys spending time in the field, building relationships, mentoring leaders, solving problems, and driving accountability through influence rather than direct authority. The successful candidate will be equally comfortable conducting jobsite inspections, leading toolbox talks, investigating incidents, facilitating training, and presenting safety performance metrics to senior leadership.
The Company:
The company is a rapidly growing private equity-backed platform comprised of commercial HVAC, mechanical, and specialty services businesses operating throughout multiple U.S. markets. The organization has experienced significant expansion through acquisitions and continues to invest heavily in strategic growth opportunities.
Unlike many consolidators, the company maintains a strong commitment to local leadership and entrepreneurial decision-making while supporting operating companies with shared resources, best practices, and operational standards. This model creates an environment where leaders can have a meaningful impact while collaborating across multiple businesses and regions.
The organization serves both service and construction markets, providing exposure to a broad range of operational environments, customer requirements, and safety challenges. With ambitious growth plans and continued acquisition activity, the platform offers the opportunity to influence a business undergoing significant transformation and expansion.
The Boss:
This position reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer, creating an exceptional level of executive visibility and influence. Leadership is committed to building a best-in-class safety function and recognizes safety as a critical component of operational excellence, risk management, and long-term growth.
The successful candidate will work closely with senior leaders who value practical solutions, field engagement, accountability, and collaboration. The leadership team is focused on empowering operating companies while establishing scalable systems and processes that support future growth. This role will have direct access to key decision-makers and the opportunity to influence business strategy as the organization continues to expand.
The Position:
The Corporate Safety Manager will serve as the primary safety leader across all operating companies, driving consistency, compliance, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the organization. This individual will work closely with operating company leadership to implement enterprise safety initiatives while respecting the unique needs of each business.
The position requires extensive travel to operating locations and active job sites, where the successful candidate will assess risks, mentor leaders, conduct audits, investigate incidents, deliver training, and promote a culture of safety ownership at every level of the organization.
The individual will also play a critical role in supporting future acquisitions by evaluating safety programs, conducting due diligence activities, and integrating newly acquired businesses into the organization's safety framework.
