Overview

The Bell/Door Attendant creates the first and last impression of E11EVEN Club Hotel & Residences by warmly welcoming guests and residents at the entrance, assisting with luggage, and ensuring smooth arrivals and departures. This role requires a genuine passion for customer service, strong communication skills, and excellent physical stamina, which is needed to push carts, carry luggage, open doors, and stand and walk for extended periods each day. 

Responsibilities

  • Greet all guests and residents at the hotel entrance, opening doors and offering assistance with luggage and packages upon arrival and departure.
  • Consistently use the 10-5 rule: at 10 feet away, make eye contact with the guest and smile; at 5 feet away, extend a friendly verbal acknowledgment to welcome the guest.
  • Load, unload, and transport guest luggage to and from vehicles and guest rooms safely and efficiently.
  • Escort arriving guests to their rooms when requested, explaining hotel features, room amenities, and services.
  • Store and retrieve guest luggage and packages, and maintain accurate luggage storage records and tags.
  • Deliver packages, mail, amenities, and other items to guest rooms and residences as requested.
  • Assist with traffic flow on the front drive in coordination with valet, and arrange taxis, rideshares, and other transportation for guests.
  • Respond to guest inquiries regarding hotel features, services, outlet hours, and local attractions, and provide personalized recommendations without prompting.
  • Answer Front Service phone calls and respond to requests in a timely and courteous manner.
  • Demonstrate a sense of urgency when assisting guests while maintaining a calm and composed demeanor.
  • Project a positive and upbeat tone of voice, maintaining eye contact, a smile, and positive body language, and extend an appropriate closing to every interaction.
  • Maintain energy, enthusiasm, and a willingness to serve, consistently demonstrating property and company service standards for the duration of the shift.
  • Keep the hotel entrance, lobby, bell stand, and luggage carts clean, organized, and presentable.
  • Report any safety concerns, suspicious activity, or maintenance needs to a supervisor immediately.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Front Office and/or hotel management.

Qualifications

  • High school or equivalent education preferred.
  • One (1) year of customer service experience required; previous experience as a Bell Attendant, Door Attendant, or Luggage Attendant in a luxury hotel preferred.
  • Must be able to lift heavy baggage up to 80 lbs.
  • Proven ability to provide courteous, friendly, and efficient service.
  • Must be able to get along with colleagues and work as a team.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Self-starter with problem-solving ability.
  • Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Bilingual skills a plus.

  • Up to 20 days of paid vacation per year, based on classification and length of service
  • Paid Sick & Safe Time accrues at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked, with up to 72 hours of unused time carried over from one anniversary year to the next.

For Employees Based in Colorado:

  • 8 paid holidays per year; employees working in the City of Denver receive 64 hours of designated holiday time per calendar year
  • Up to 20 days of paid vacation per year, based on classification and length of service
  • 6 days or 48 hours of Paid Sick Leave per year, accrued at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked.

For Employees Based in California:

  • 8 paid holidays per year
  • Up to 20 days of paid vacation per year, based on classification and length of service, capped at 1.5x annual accrual rate; non-supervisory employees working in the City of Los Angeles accrue up to 22 days of Compensated Time Off, based on length of service capped at 192 hours of combined PST and CTO.
  • Paid Sick Time accrues at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked, unused time is carried over from one anniversary year to the next up to a maximum of 80 hours; employees working in the City of Los Angeles are provided 40 hours of Paid Sick Time annually on their anniversary, unused time is not carried over from one anniversary year to the next.

Please note that certain benefits described above for associates in Washington, Colorado, and California may vary for associates covered by a Collective Bargaining Agreement (“CBA”). For such associates, eligibility for and the terms and conditions of benefits are governed by the applicable CBA and any applicable plan documents, and may differ from the benefits described above. In the event of any conflict or inconsistency, the terms of the applicable CBA and governing plan documents will control, as applicable.
