We are seeking a Continuous Improvement (CI) Internal Auditor to play a key role in supporting and enhancing our Quality, Environmental, and Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems. This position offers the opportunity to work across multiple departments, partner with leaders throughout the organization, and help drive operational excellence at both our corporate and manufacturing facilities.

Responsibilities

As a CI Internal Auditor, you will serve as a critical resource in maintaining and improving our management systems while promoting a culture of continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage internal auditing activities for Quality, Environmental, and Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems.
  • Lead the internal audit process from start to finish, including audit notifications, planning, execution, reporting, follow-up activities, and management reporting.
  • Utilize Quality Management Software (QMS) to document and track corrective actions, observations, and audit findings.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and help drive enhancements to audit programs, processes, and procedures.
  • Maintain and update audit procedures to ensure compliance with applicable standards and company requirements.
  • Schedule and facilitate pre-audit and post-audit meetings with auditors, auditees, and stakeholders.
  • Review previous audit findings, corrective actions, and customer feedback to support effective audit planning.
  • Participate in external certification audits at corporate and off-site facilities.
  • Stay current on evolving ISO standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Conduct internal audits at multiple locations and support audit readiness initiatives.
  • Lead and support corrective action investigations and continuous improvement projects.
  • Assist with organizational growth initiatives, including new certifications, site expansions, and acquisitions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to strengthen compliance, efficiency, and overall system effectiveness.

 

Qualifications

Education & Certifications

  • Associate Degree in Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field; or equivalent applicable work experience.
  • ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System Internal Auditor Certification.

Experience

  • Three (3) or more years of experience auditing Quality Management Systems.
  • Experience conducting internal audits and supporting corrective action activities.

Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of Quality Management System elements including:
    • Document Control
    • Internal Audits
    • Corrective Actions
    • Monitoring & Measurement
  • Ability to analyze data, interpret findings, and prepare professional reports.
  • Knowledge of AIAG Core Tools.
  • Experience facilitating meetings and building consensus across diverse teams.
  • Strong risk analysis, investigation, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System Internal Auditor Certification.
  • ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health & Safety Management System Internal Auditor Certification.
  • ANAB Certified IATF 16949:2016 Automotive Quality Management System Lead Auditor Certification.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing operations and production environments.
  • Experience using Quality Management Software systems such as IQS or TruBox.
  • Experience with structured problem-solving methodologies, including:
    • 8D
    • DMAIC
    • Root Cause Analysis
    • Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA)
