Job Description

As a Senior Relationship Banker for Construction & Real Estate, you are a strategic point of contact for Rabobank’s largest wholesale clients in these sectors. You build and maintain sustainable C-level relationships, identify commercial opportunities, and translate sector developments into concrete, client-focused solutions. You coordinate Rabobank’s delivery service and ensure a seamless collaboration of our internal teams.

You & Your Function

As Senior Relationship Banker Construction & Real Estate, you continually look for opportunities within your existing portfolio and contribute to expanding Rabobank’s portfolio outside The Netherlands, with an additional focus on the Nordic countries. You will build new client relationships, originate deals, and act as a sector specialist, leveraging your broad banking experience and network to deliver sustainable results.

The (sub)sectors you will work with are:

• Building Materials – Aggregates, building products, distribution.
• Construction (Equipment).
• Design & Construction – Engineering and project delivery.
• Built Assets – Real Estate investments and property development, technical services and asset management.
  

Practical Examples

• Build and maintain strategic relationships with leading corporates, prospects, and clients in the broader (European) Construction & Real Estate sector.
• Originate and manage strategic cross-selling opportunities across Rabobank’s full product suite, including working capital finance, leasing, risk management solutions, M&A and capital markets (debt and equity).
• Execute deals and deepen client relationships to develop a robust client portfolio, driving (sustainable) growth and innovation.
  

Top 3 Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategies to grow the Construction & Real Estate portfolio in targeted European markets, focusing on new business, deepening existing relationships, and identifying growth opportunities that contribute to Rabobank’s green asset expansion.
• Collaborate and align with internal and external stakeholders—including international branches, risk, product groups, other coverage bankers, and the broader European Construction & Real Estate team—on commercial opportunities and innovative solutions.
• Act as a sector specialist, championing innovation and sustainability, and contributing to Rabobank’s mission to build a resilient, future-proof Europe.

You & Your Talent

• 10+ years of experience in international wholesale banking.
• Proven track record in strategic (product) originating and structuring complex financing solutions.

• Strong network and market knowledge within the European Construction & Real Estate sector is highly valued.

• Demonstrated ability to develop new business and grow strategic client relationships.
• Solid credit risk management expertise and strong commercial judgement.
• Experience leading complex transactions and managing senior stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage at C-level.
• Entrepreneurial, proactive and results-driven mindset.
• Strong team player with the ability to mobilise multidisciplinary teams and deliver outstanding client outcomes.
