Position Summary
FSM Group, LLC, an aviation fuel management company with operations across North America, has an immediate opening for a Quality Control (QC) Technician at our Boston airport location.
The Quality Control (QC) Technician is responsible for inspecting, monitoring, maintaining, and testing fueling equipment and related vehicles to ensure compliance with company standards and applicable safety, operational, and regulatory requirements. This position helps promote the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of fueling systems by performing preventative maintenance, conducting equipment inspections, documenting findings, identifying operational deficiencies, and coordinating corrective actions with the maintenance team. The role requires strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, accurate recordkeeping, and consistent adherence to company policies, airport requirements, and established safety procedures.
Essential Responsibilities
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly inspections of fueling units to verify compliance with company quality, safety, and operational standards
- Inspect equipment decals and markings to ensure they are present, legible, and meet applicable requirements
- Identify, document, and promptly report equipment deficiencies, discrepancies, or maintenance needs to the appropriate personnel
- Prepare, maintain, and submit accurate inspection records, reports, and other required documentation
- Remove fuel from sump tanks as necessary to prevent overflows and maintain safe operating conditions
- Utilize company-approved mobile devices, including wireless tablets, to record, manage, and submit inspection data
- Comply with all company policies, safety procedures, airport requirements, and applicable regulatory standards
- Complete assigned daily quality control activities in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner
- Operate company vehicles and equipment safely while performing duties in airport operational areas
- Perform other duties as assigned to meet business and operational needs

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Possess and maintain a valid U.S. driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle record in accordance with company standards
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Ability to maintain reliable transportation to and from the assigned work location
- Availability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed??
- Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening and applicable background checks, including federal fingerprinting, in accordance with regulatory requirements
- Ability to access all areas of the airport necessary to perform job duties, including secured areas, in compliance with airport and federal regulations
- Ability to obtain and maintain any required government security clearance; employment is contingent upon successful completion of all applicable background checks and clearance requirements as determined by the contracting agency
Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to address routine operational challenges
- Basic mathematical proficiency
- Ability to conduct inspections, identify equipment issues or discrepancies, and recommend or report corrective actions
- Technical aptitude to understand fueling systems, mechanical processes, and related equipment
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance guidelines, and procedural manuals
- Ability to effectively communicate in English as required to perform job duties and support safe operations in the airport environment, including during emergencies or situations requiring a shared language for safety
- Ability to follow written, verbal, and diagram-based instructions
- Proficiency with computer systems and common workplace software applications, including Microsoft Office applications, data entry and operational reporting systems
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on safety, quality, and regulatory compliance
- Ability to operate motor vehicles safely within airport environments

This position requires sustained physical effort and consistent exposure to outdoor and potentially
hazardous work environments. The physical demands described below are representative of those that
must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, with or without

Mobility and Access
- Ability to climb up and down stairs and ladders with 50+ steps and work at heights of 50 feet or more, including high, precarious places
- Ability to get in and out of vehicles of varying sizes and heights
- Ability to drive and operate vehicles and equipment of various sizes, including automated lifts up to 26 feet
Lifting and Carrying
- Frequently lift and carry up to 30 pounds overhead
- Occasionally lift up to 70 pounds to waist level
- Ability to shovel materials such as snow, sand, dirt, gravel, or rocks as needed
Standing and Movement
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, squat, kneel, crawl, twist, climb, and balance for extended periods of time
- Perform repetitive physical movements, including bending at the waist and knees, and sustaining awkward or physically demanding positions
- Capable of climbing and standing on step ladders while performing overhead work, such as attaching fueling hoses
Manual Dexterity
- Use hands and fingers to handle, feel, grip, and operate tools, equipment, and controls
Sensory Requirements
- Hear and respond to verbal instructions, environmental sounds, and audible alarms
- Maintain the following vision capabilities
- Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less)
- Distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more)
- Color vision (identify and distinguish between colors)
- Peripheral vision (see up/down and side-to-side while focused on a central point)
- Depth perception (assess distance and spatial relationships)
- Ability to adjust focus (sharpen vision at various distances)
Environmental and Working Conditions
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, snow, and wind.
- Tolerate frequent exposure to:
- Moderate to high noise levels (with use of appropriate hearing protection)
- Fumes, airborne particles, and hazardous substances, materials, or waste
- Work near or around:
- Moving mechanical parts
