Position Summary:
The Group Controller oversees accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls across a group of companies or divisions to ensure accuracy and compliance. Key responsibilities include managing financial statements, budgets, and forecasts; performing financial analysis to support strategic decision-making; coordinating audits; and leading accounting and finance teams to maintain the overall financial health and efficiency of the company.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business is required.
- CPA Certification is required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- Knowledge of corporate accounts payable policies, procedures, and regulations
- Strong knowledge of General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel with the ability to generate and analyze spreadsheets
- Experience with accounting software and relevant financial systems
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills
- Ability to process computer data, format, and generate reports
- Knowledge of mathematics
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop long-term financial goals, create forecasts and budgets, and analyze financial performance against plans.
Evaluate investment opportunities, manage capital budgeting, and advise on strategies for the company's capital assets.
Oversee the collection and analysis of financial data, prepare financial reports, and communicate insights to senior management.
Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to inform key business decisions and drive efficiency and profitability.
Monitor internal controls, ensure compliance with financial regulations, and develop and implement policies and procedures.
Work with various departments and stakeholders to meet financial goals and ensure accurate financial communication.
Lead and support the finance team, including conducting performance evaluations and developing team members.
Interface and manage the preparation of timely and accurate financial statement reporting by company locations
Prepare and distribute consolidated financial statements and other required monthly reporting to the parent company and management.
Review and record monthly elimination of intercompany revenue and receivable/payable transactions
Interface with the location Controllers providing financial oversight and support, including travelling to the locations for training, internal audits, or financial reviews.
Provide managerial oversight of annual physical inventory counts to ensure discrepancies are investigated and policies and procedures are adhered to.
Establish, document, and implement financial policies and procedures to maintain internal controls and safeguards over the company’s assets.
Complete quarterly fixed charge calculations and other monthly reporting to comply with bank loan agreements
Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants.
Initiate or approve daily ACH and wire transfers as needed.
Engage with and support external audit activities and audit preparation, managing timely and accurate reporting and response, including the Reporting Package and Quarterly Reviews.
Manage, develop, monitor, and oversee procedures to ensure compliance with U.S. Customs and U.S. DOT regulations.
Interface with the bank auditors and inventory appraisers for periodic audits/appraisals.
Ensure corporate tax returns are filed, and payments are made timely.
Coordinate an annual Controller’s Meeting reviewing topics on accounting and operations as they pertain to the organization.
Assist with the development of business strategies, preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and consolidated budgets, continually monitoring and reporting on variances against actual performance.
Recruit and train accounting staff as needed.
Manage relationships with auditors, tax advisers, brokers, bankers, attorneys, and other parties as directed by the CFO.
Support the CFO in the development and execution of the vision and mission of the organization by working closely with the CFO, reviewing and communicating information and developments to ensure accuracy and integrity of the organization’s financial records.
Responsible for drafting and implementing performance standards, conducting performance reviews, managing employee relations, and ensuring adherence to company procedures and policies.
Serve as a fiduciary member of the Company’s Retirement Plan committee.
