• Day Shift: 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM (40 hours per week)
• Swing Shift: 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM (40 hours per week)
• Overnight Shift: 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM (40 hours per week)
   

Position Overview

Citadel Security USA is seeking a dependable and professional Unarmed Lobby Security Officer to support daily safety, visitor management, and access procedures at an assigned location in Columbia, Missouri. This position is centered on maintaining an orderly lobby, observing activity, assisting visitors, and identifying concerns before they develop into larger problems.

The successful candidate will bring a service-minded attitude, steady attention to detail, and the ability to follow established procedures. This is an unarmed role focused on prevention, communication, observation, and timely reporting.
 

What You Will Do

• Maintain Lobby Coverage: Keep watch over the main entry area, observe visitor activity, and help ensure established entry procedures are followed.
• Verify Visitor Access: Check identification when required, provide visitor badges, and maintain accurate records of people entering and leaving the premises.
• Conduct Foot Patrols: Walk assigned interior and exterior areas to identify unsafe conditions, signs of unauthorized entry, or other unusual activity.
• Observe Security Equipment: Monitor CCTV cameras, alarms, and access-control systems and report or respond to concerns according to post orders.
• Assist Visitors and Employees: Provide directions, answer routine questions, and communicate courteously while maintaining appropriate security boundaries.
• Address Disruptive Conduct: Respond professionally to disagreements or rule violations, use de-escalation techniques when appropriate, and seek supervisory support when necessary.
• Respond to Emergencies: Follow established procedures for alarms, medical concerns, evacuations, suspicious activity, and other urgent situations.
• Monitor Key Access Areas: Pay attention to stairways, elevators, emergency exits, and other designated areas to help prevent unauthorized access and identify hazards.
• Enforce Site Procedures: Apply assigned rules and post orders consistently, respectfully, and within the limits of your authority.
• Prepare Accurate Reports: Record daily activity, incidents, safety issues, access concerns, and unusual observations in the required reporting system.
• Notify the Appropriate Personnel: Communicate significant incidents promptly to supervisors and contact emergency responders when circumstances require it.
• Maintain Professional Conduct: Protect confidential information, remain alert throughout the shift, and represent Citadel Security USA with integrity and courtesy.
   

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 1–2 years of professional security experience.
• Strong verbal communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to observe surroundings carefully and recognize potential security concerns.
• Ability to remain calm and exercise good judgment during stressful situations.
• Ability to prepare clear, accurate written reports and maintain visitor records.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the shift.
• Ability to patrol indoor and outdoor areas, including stairways, elevators, and emergency exits.
• Ability to respond promptly to emergencies and follow established procedures.
• Sufficient visual and auditory awareness to monitor activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Availability to work one of the listed Monday–Friday shifts.
   

Preferred Qualifications

• Two or more years of experience in security, law enforcement, or military service.
• Previous experience in lobby security, visitor screening, or access management.
• Familiarity with CCTV monitoring, alarm systems, visitor logs, or electronic reporting tools.
• Experience assisting the public while maintaining professional boundaries and established rules.
