Consultant Clinical Genetics - Abu Dhabi

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Genetics Consultant to join a reputable healthcare facility in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will provide specialist genetic assessment, diagnosis, counselling, and management for patients and families with suspected or confirmed genetic disorders.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and diagnose patients with suspected hereditary and genetic conditions.
• Obtain detailed personal and family histories and evaluate inheritance patterns.
• Interpret genetic testing results and coordinate appropriate diagnostic investigations.
• Provide pre-test and post-test genetic counselling to patients and families.
• Develop individualized management plans based on clinical findings and genetic risk.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including pediatricians, oncologists, obstetricians, and other specialists.
• Support the management of inherited metabolic disorders, congenital anomalies, and hereditary cancer syndromes, as appropriate to clinical expertise.
• Educate patients and families about genetic risks, inheritance, screening, and available management options.
• Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with clinical guidelines, patient confidentiality, and ethical standards.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Recognized specialist qualification in Clinical Genetics or Medical Genetics.
• Consultant-level clinical experience in clinical genetics.
• Relevant experience in genetic diagnosis, interpretation of genetic investigations, and counseling.
• Valid DOH Abu Dhabi license or eligibility for DOH licensure.
• Strong communication, clinical decision-making, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
