No ophthalmic experience? No problem! We’re willing to train the right candidate. If you’re eager to learn, enjoy working with people, and want to build a rewarding career in healthcare, we’ll help you develop the skills and confidence to succeed.

Work alongside respected ophthalmologists, learn to use advanced diagnostic technology, and be part of a collaborative, patient-focused environment where your contributions matter.

Why Join Northwest Eye Surgeons?

  • Training provided: Learn specialized clinical skills with support from an experienced team.
  • Make a difference: Play an important role in delivering exceptional patient care and supporting positive outcomes.
  • Work with advanced technology: Gain hands-on experience with specialized ophthalmic equipment and diagnostic testing.
  • Be part of a supportive team: Collaborate with physicians and clinical professionals who value teamwork and communication.
  • Grow your career: Expand your clinical skills and explore opportunities for professional certification.
  • Feel valued: Join a workplace that values diversity, inclusion, collaboration, and continuous learning.

What You’ll Do

As an Ophthalmic Technician, you’ll help create a smooth, positive experience for patients while supporting physicians in providing high-quality eye care. Responsibilities include:

  • Perform patient workups and assist with ocular examinations.
  • Conduct specialized diagnostic testing and accurately document examination findings and treatment recommendations.
  • Administer ophthalmic medications and assist with in-office laser procedures.
  • Provide patient education and assist with treatments, dressings, and other clinical needs.
  • Monitor patient flow and communicate appointment status updates to support an efficient clinic.
  • Partner with ophthalmologists and the clinical team to ensure patients receive attentive, compassionate care.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking someone who is dependable, detail-oriented, patient-focused, and eager to learn. Strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and a commitment to providing excellent patient care are essential. Previous ophthalmic or healthcare experience is a plus, but we’re happy to train candidates who have the right attitude and willingness to learn.

Ready to start a new career in eye care? Join Northwest Eye Surgeons and grow with us while helping people see their best!

Requirements

  • Perform patient workups and ophthalmic diagnostic testing.
  • Assist ophthalmologists during examinations and procedures.
  • Educate patients about their care, diagnoses, and treatment plans.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience with ophthalmic equipment, such as OCT, visual field testing, and tonometry, is preferred but not required.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
  • A positive attitude and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented clinical environment.
  • Willingness to learn and grow—we’re happy to train the right candidate!
